Neuromancer | 2007 Tech Demo
Apr 08, 2007 Full Version 1 commentNeuromancer | 2007 Tech Demo featuring 1 level of the game.

Neuromancer Based on the William Gibson Novel Neuromancer, the novel that defined Cyberpunk as a sub-genre of Science Fiction Literature and Media.
This game is still in production - release date has been recalled as the nature of the project has changed. No release date has been set.
Neuromancer is the intellectual property of William Gibson and was registered in 1984 under US Copyright, the book was published by Ace books and Penguin Books in the US. A game by Interplay Interactive was released in 1989 with the same name, the team behind this remake acknowledges their right as owners of the 1989 game IP which this remake is based on. Furthermore a motion picture was registered around 2003 under copyright and is still in production however under a new production company- this game remake acknowledges their rights to a film adaptation of the Novel by Williamg Gibson. This remake also acknowledges the graphic novel copyrighted by Marvel Comics in the US with the same name as well.
None of these parties listed are involved with the production of this remake. This is a purely fanbased remake which I am developing for free of charge and for no profit as a test of my skills. This remake is for educational purporses and for free distribution to the public.
I have sought permissions but have had no luck in contacting these people. If you represent one of these parties please do not hesitate to get in touch with me immediately.
The game has now been changed to Episodic distribution, I will be adding these episodes as Mods to this ModDB profile.
Neuromancer 2007 Tech Demo 1 - Requires Quicktime
Please note that Neuromancer 2007 has been discontinued because of a scope and design change. The distribution method displayed at the end of the game is redundant and being a tech demo the game fails to represent the quality of the final product in any way.
Epsiode 1: Chiba City Blues
Tech Demo 2.0 is scheduled for this episode as a demonstration of the new content and multi-platform editions of the game. No set release date has been given at this point.
Episode 2: The Shopping Expidition
Episode 3: Midnight In The Rue Jules Verne
Epsiode 4: The Straylight Run
A possible 5th Episode could be made based on the success of the inital game.
The scope and mission statement of this project is as follows:
Please note that Neuromancer is an adult video game. Using TIGRS this video game is rated ADULT. No one under the age of 18 should be exposed to this game. The game will feature adequate functions for concerned parents to lock the game out so that their child cannot access the game and the game will come standard with the lock on, though it will be easy to remove as to allow genuine over 18 Adult gamers ease of access to the game. It is the parental responsibility that no child is given access to this game and I as the developer cannot be held responcible for misuse of this content by a minor as I have already provided the means of self-censorship and its your choice to use it or not. Neuromancer is an adult story and depicts very strong drug usage as well as sexual references.

In no way does Neuromancer force or encourage the user to take drugs nor does it give the user control over the action, the drug references in this game are plot devices and not gameplay devices so they don't add anything to the user's experience rather to tell a story about the protagonists path to self destruction. Drug usage and the sexual references in the game will not be an interactive part of this game and I apologize in advance if such content offends you.
For more information on these ratings go to Tigrs.org

Anyone been to the website lately? Neuromancer | 2007: A billy idol roleplaying game.
Its now in PNG, features a update date and I've corrected all the errors.
Yeah that'd be alright. But right now I'll be doing the tech demo minus the voice acting for the moment(animating the sprites is really difficult due to the quality I'm putting in). I just want it out to the public quickly so that I can concentrate on the Alpha and DX:NV. I'll get you to do an auidition for me once the tech demo is out ;)
Hello CP. Good work here. I'd be willing to fill in a character for voice acting.
Just updating that I'm still working on the animations. Everyone might be interested to know that I'm assisting Snipa (a former HDTP modeler/texture artist) with Deus Ex: New Vision - keep in mind this will NOT effect the schedule. Work is progressing smoothly on both projects.
Due to time complications I've removed myself from Narration. Because animating is taking its bloody time, and its very difficult. Plus I've got personal complications that I need to attend to (employment :D).
Just discovered a massive bug in my program a second ago. Vista hates Quicktime FMVs - the program disables Aero if you run Neuromancer | 2007. I'm working on fixing this as its a pretty massive bug. Meanwhile I've had to install Photoshop CS3 due to incompatibility issues with Vista and CS2.
Chatsubo has become so detailed that it now crashes my 3.0Ghz processor. I hope everyone appreciates the level of quality I'm putting into this game. For the moment my FaceGen work is a lot slower on account that I can't find decent Nvidia drivers for SLI. (I've heard you can use old drivers to get it to work, but I'm not risking it after the crap I had to go through with XP) SLI is really handy, but its a SOB to install - and if you're lucky it'll actually work.
Still waiting on Linux. Meanwhile I'm working on the UI - I think the current UI is not functional. I'm scraping it and starting over as I want this game to be "EASIER" to play than the original Neuromancer which a lot of people stoped playing because it was too dang hard.
I've just installed Vista and I'm pressently downloading Ubuntu to test if I can get the game running in Linux. People have asked me if it'll be availible for Linux which I can't assure until I test it. I'm betting it'll need WineX in order to run though.
Sorry for the inactivity the last few days, Adelaide was struck with a temporary heat wave so I was somewhat unable to move :D. I've been doing a lot of characters, Chin and Call Girl have been worked on and look very cool. I'm considering re-doing the PAX after discovering that they were intended to be a Touch screen system - and required a deck to allow you to type. (this means that you'll have to see Shin before you can reply to Armitage's post. I've added some dialog that will tell you to get a deck from Shin first)
I've made ratz's Arm slightly better and I'm in the process of animating it. (all he can do right now is tap it on the bar) He can talk and move his eyes and head but thats about it. He's clothes are more dirty and are lighted differently now. There is a red haze around him.
News on the tech demo - I've added some promotional shots. I've decided to include the exterior of Chatsubo as well. (but you'll get arrested no matter what - because its a demo)
Hopefully I'll be able to get some programing done.
Also I added the link to gamespot's GREATEST GAMES OF ALL TIME - Neuromancer was one of the first on the list. (along such other greats as Final Fantasy 7, System Shock 2 and Day of the Tentical)
Updated the profile again. Keep watching it cause it'll constantly change throughout the development.
