Unreal Tournament PC game

Hey i bought my UT GOTY edition and well i tried ti install it on my pc wich uses Windows XP as its OS but it hangs up at either Mine.utx or Soldierskins.utx and then pops up with an error,i then tried to install it on my other pc that runs on Windows Me and it works fine so whats the problem?I read at infogrammes site for UT gOTY it said that it needs to be isntalled by a pure cd rom but i have a cd/dvd rom/burner so what do i do?

ok, Umod setup is hard if you don't know what you're doing... So here's a list:
1) Go to Folder Options (If you can't find that, I can't help you)
2) File Types tab
3) New file type
4) Where it says "file extension", put UMOD in
5) OK
6) Find UMOD in the list
7) Advanced Options
8) double click "Open" in the list
9) browse for the setup.exe in your unrealtournament/system/ directory
10) it should now "c:\unrealtournament\system\setup.exe" or something like that, depending on where you "installed" it.
11) add the following test to the end: " install %0"
12) it should now look like this: "c:\unrealtournament\system\setup.exe install %0"
13) press ok to all open dialog boxes
14) open your UMODs

Some guy asked how to make UT run at normal speed on laptops:

1. Create a shortcut to the UT .exe

2. add " - cpuspeed=XXX" where the x's are your speed in mhz, ie. for a 1.3 GHz you make it - cpuspeed=1300, remember the spaces.

Try changing the graphics device after the first startup or download OpenGL devices with frame limiter

I just actually got it but im enjoying it more then UT 2k4 for some reason

I love UT and still pull it out occassionaly when i'm feeling retro. i have it on my laptop so is i feel like a game when i'm travelling i've got one.

Problem is the notebook makes the game run just too fast, even at the highest settings. Is thee a command or mod or patch our there that recognised the processing power and modifies the game speed accordingly??

Help would be appreciated so that UT can live forever.

i can't seem to open the Umods, how do i open Umods, please help me out here
