The Hunted is a single-player fps game based off of the Darkplaces engine' It is completely standalone meaning you do not need any prior files to run it and it comes in a series called "Chronicles"' These "Chronicles" are used to having a continually flowing story and a difference from weaponry and other things found in-game' Each "Chronicle" tells the story of a lone survivor escaping the city that has been overcome by the infected' The infecteds' symptoms at the time of the survivor's adventure are not clear but as the chronicles are released the story unfolds to make it quite clear as to why, where, when, and how this survivor came to be in a horror show such as this' Chronicle - 1: Q' Where is my gun at the start? A' You start unarmed, and essentially defenseless' Q 'I picked up a weapon, but I don't know if I received it' A' key is knife and key is the pistol, which are the included possible items to receive in Chronicle - 1 Q' I can't...

[page=Introduction]
The latest project from the talented Quake modder ChrisPage, The Hunted is an upcoming series of FPS-Horror episodes. The first chronicle, "The Beginning", was astonishingly created in just under a fortnight, and is incredibley enjoyable. While many modern games take the focus off gameplay and place it on increasingly advanced graphical achievements, The Hunted manages to entertain players through it's balance of tension, challenging combat and puzzles, and the use of stunning graphic effects. Perhaps best of all, however, is the engine it is running on; it is standalone, and any user is free to download it and play it without any other prerequisites.

The storyline, while simple, only serves to give the player a brief overview of their situation: in the first chronicle, you play as a survivor trying to avoid the masses of "infected" people on the streets of the city by taking shelter in a house. As each chronicle is released, the player will assume the role of different survivors in the city and discover more about how the people of the city become infected. As barebones as this is, the core of the gameplay is in the experience of the game.

So what are you sitting there for, reading about this so-called Mod of the Month. Download it now and discover for yourself what makes this mod so great.

What sort of puzzles does the game have, unfortunately I can't d/l this at the moment, and I'm looking for good puzzle-designers for the Citadel Utopia Mod. Drop by sometime if you're interested.

Lol, that's funny, Citadel :P

It was a fun game. Sure, it was hard as hell, but not too bad for 11 days of work (I thought Carni said 11 hours of work...).

It's basically running around, picking up keys and weapons, while fending off zombies. I didn't get that far into it, though, so I have no idea how you get the pistol out from behind that window :(

That isn't a pistol, and nor is that a window.
