Battlefield: 1942 is a tactical first-person shooter set in World War II. It introduces combined arms tactics, using tanks and dive-bombers, submarines and carriers, and machinegun nests with AA-artillery. Every aspect of WWII warfare will be accessible to a player and his friends from an FPS perspective, and the ultimate goal is to win enough campaigns to win the war.

OMG!!
Battlefield 40K!
I am at work at the moment and have just downloaded - can't wait to get home and play!
I seriously, seriously believe that the Battlefield franchise has really hit the nail on the head! Especially considering it's (everybody's favourite-NOT!) developer - EA.
If people weren't here doing Mods and Patches for this - EA would not still be around today, i swear! someone tell EA games to do some decent, proper patch support for their games...either that or stick to the consoles! (sorry, just resent them slightly for taking over Westwood and destroying all that was command & conquer with an embarresment such as Generals! RIP RED alert 2 :( )
IN ANY CASE! YES!! c'mon, what a great idea, Warhammer in the battlefield format, its like, the perfect concept! i cannot wait!

The mods alone will make this game worthwhile well into the next decade. Of course some deserve more recognition then they get right now. Take a gander at this for example: Planetbattlefield.com
Man, I currently own and play BF2.. It's awesome, but it just compare to BF1942. It's MOD database it awesome, and online play is a blast.. Viva La BF1942!!!!!!
