Tremulous is a free, open source game that blends a team based FPS with elements of an RTS. Players can choose from 2 unique races, aliens and humans. Players on both teams are able to build working structures in-game like an RTS. These structures provide many functions, the most important being spawning. The designated builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. The overall objective behind Tremulous is to eliminate the opposing team. This is achieved by not only killing the opposing players but also removing their ability to respawn by destroying their spawn structures.

We're are exceedingly close to making a 1.0 release of Tremulous, but before we do so some last minute testing is required. I've set up a mailing list that is used to organise test games. If you're interesting in helping out in the "last big push", then visit the Tremulous home page.

Thanks.

"can this even be modded?
and if so, i think hat a mod based off of the t.V. show stargate SG1 could be done, replicaters vs. humans "

Its open source.... you can LOOK and CHANGE at the source code. this probobly would be by far one of the easiest games to mod ever. im sure you could replace models and edit the .pak files since it uses the quake 3 engine i believe.

the quake 3 source code got released
Idsoftware.com
This is the combined source code for Quake III Arena and Quake III: Team Arena. It can be used to build the 1.27g point release or the Team Arena release. It contains buildable project files and all related game source code as well as prebuilt tool executables.
