3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. I hope you enjoy it! "Just want to say again that this is a great game! For those of you who feel like its a minecraft copy just beacuse of the cube textures used you really need to rethink what a game is about! The game play of 3079 is nothing like minecraft it is pretty unique as well as how the weapons all have diffrent stats and colors kind of reminds me of Borderlands. However it is still an original idea for a game and i still play it from time to time. You should at least try the demo and if you like it please buy it and support fruit! :D Still give it a 9/10 ! After tens of trials and errors/death, I have beaten this game first time.
As what it is at the moment, it's very interesting to play. I've yet to try out the multiplayer-component, but it'll be certainly very instereting once I get someone else to try this game.
There are couple of balancing issues regarding to demons, sudden high level NPCs and "battleships". but then again, it's a war zone. and you can't always be the godlike, most powerful person around from the beginning. Though lack of suitable/usable grapling hook and anti-gravity-pack occasionally made the progress extreme diffucult (which I spend about 70-80-percent of my time due fast levelling). I was lucky enough to beat the game with high-jumping-boost and boosted movement speed. And with patience, lots of patience.
Occasional bug on current build (notice the date this review was written) caused some frustrations, mainly when it came to unspawned mission items, or being suddenly spotted by unseen enemies while doing assassination-missions..
Fortunately though, knowing the developer, this game is going to get tweaking and fixes sooner or later. And even now the game is extremely well playable. The coding so far is done extremely well, making this game rather lightweight and stable to play (though once I needed to close the game-maually on the process-menu, but that only happened with the first launch/boot).
As for the stability, maybe there will be more customization in future or something else in larger scale which would help us commando-wannbes to survive better in future, without sacrificing the smooth gameplay.
As of now, well worth the money, mainly because the replay value is extremely high.
This is a fun and unique game. It plays like a mix of an RPG and Quake with bock style graphics. There is a ton of loot to be found, the main quest is actually somewhat well done, the AI is okay, and the gunplay is solid.
I'm looking forward to whats added to this game and seeing it grow. I think theirs a lot of potential in the multiplayer also.
All in all I'd advise you to not overlook this title and at least try out the demo, but first read the guide so you have a bit of an idea of whats going on.
This game has high potential, let alone an interesting way of doing things. Although it sounds strange, the enemies were actually slightly scary, just for the pure weirdness of their structure. When you flying up to get to a house that is floating and then you look down and see a giant humanoid flying up at you with a knife, you run, and you carry on running.
Pros about this game:
+ Randomly generated levels, characters, items, buildings. Game is different every time and stays fresh
+ High potential, it seems like this could go a long way so long as it is developed competently, I don't have any knowledge on how to develop, so I don't know how hard it could be.
+ Just generally good fun, probably better on multi-player (Have yet to try it)
Cons about this game:
- Lack of tutorial, I know that you can press F1 to get controls, but a decent tutorial couldn't hurt, especially since when I first dropped into the game, I was very confused as to where I had to go. And how I was flying, or how to do many things in the game despite there being a controls page. You can find out how to do things with just that, but having a short tutorial, maybe like a training level on the ship that drops you in? It would just make the beginning a bit more smooth.
I like this game, hence the 9/10. And I hope this goes far. Good luck with development!
The sheer potential of this title is outstanding. There's such a great foundation here for a game of untold quality and magnitude, and the scary thing is that it's already a ridiculously fun and good game that's only going to get better! I wish the dev best of luck as he polishes and fine-tunes this already fantastic game.
As it is very new, this game doesn't feature a whole lot in the way of story. However the game does put a sparkle in my eye. Minecraft and Doom seem to be the biggest likenesses to this particular title. I'd suggest giving it a try, and getting it if you like it before it comes out of Alpha. Support Phroot, and this awesome WIP.
