3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. I hope you enjoy it! "Just want to say again that this is a great game! For those of you who feel like its a minecraft copy just beacuse of the cube textures used you really need to rethink what a game is about! The game play of 3079 is nothing like minecraft it is pretty unique as well as how the weapons all have diffrent stats and colors kind of reminds me of Borderlands. However it is still an original idea for a game and i still play it from time to time. You should at least try the demo and if you like it please buy it and support fruit! :D Still give it a 9/10 ! An excellent upcoming title taking the Minecraft paradigm in a new direction. Very pleased with the decision to support Linux. So long as it continues to develop, polish, and add new content it may take its place beside Terraria as one of the best post-Minecraft "Build+Explore" indie titles.
This game has high potential, let alone an interesting way of doing things. Although it sounds strange, the enemies were actually slightly scary, just for the pure weirdness of their structure. When you flying up to get to a house that is floating and then you look down and see a giant humanoid flying up at you with a knife, you run, and you carry on running.
Pros about this game:
+ Randomly generated levels, characters, items, buildings. Game is different every time and stays fresh
+ High potential, it seems like this could go a long way so long as it is developed competently, I don't have any knowledge on how to develop, so I don't know how hard it could be.
+ Just generally good fun, probably better on multi-player (Have yet to try it)
Cons about this game:
- Lack of tutorial, I know that you can press F1 to get controls, but a decent tutorial couldn't hurt, especially since when I first dropped into the game, I was very confused as to where I had to go. And how I was flying, or how to do many things in the game despite there being a controls page. You can find out how to do things with just that, but having a short tutorial, maybe like a training level on the ship that drops you in? It would just make the beginning a bit more smooth.
I like this game, hence the 9/10. And I hope this goes far. Good luck with development!
