This highly anticipated sequel to Duke Nukem 3d will have Duke, as you might expect, facing off against aliens again. This time around much of the action will take place in Las Vegas, where Duke can interact with a number of different allies and friends.

"Last Saturday we had our annual company Christmas party. It was a lot of fun as usual but it featured one special surprise. It turns out that several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party. They created a short teaser for Duke Nukem Forever.
After seeing the teaser we thought it was something we should share with all of you and while it's just a teaser, rest assured more is coming.
Tomorrow, Wednesday the 19th, around noon CST, we will release the first teaser trailer from Duke Nukem Forever. To tide you over until then, here is a screen shot taken from the teaser."
In preparation for the release, Broussard also posted a screenshot from the teaser and promises future media over time.
I think it's time to go pump some iron and chew some bubble gum.

Will there be any reason to buy it other than nostalgia though? It's Duke Nukem, there's really no room for innovation there. It was going to be great in 1997, but now it's almost 2008.
And you know that the strippers aren't going to be in it. :|

I would be surprised if strippers, or at least half naked ladies, wouldn't be in the game.
They can't afford to make this thing Adults Only, and the soccer mom-run ESRB sure isn't going to let that slide into Mature.
Heh, DNF will never ever get an Adult rating if they keep the females in the game somewhat clothed just like in Duke Nukem 3D. Really, DNF without chicks would be like Super Mario Galaxy without Mario.

Would it be cynical to remind them that April 1st isn't for another four months? Hey, if it releases and it's fun, that's cool :) But I just can't take anything they promise seriously anymore :(
And the engine they're running off looks three years old.
It amazes me how this project can continue to get funded... They must have wasted millions in development cost by now.. They must have some really understanding investors funding this project.

I know this joke is old but... Duke Nukem Forever... takes forever :D . I'll have a watch at the movie but somehow I am not expecting much. D3D will always be pseudo-3d for me and this is what made it classic ( besides the already mentioned things ). Real 3D with pumped up graphics... I mean... this just ain't Duke Nukem anyanymore :/

You know what would be hilarious? If this was all really a joke. I mean, put out a small picture here and there -- a teaser photo like today. But the name is literally what it means. They're not putting any funding into the project aside from the model of Duke Nukem. I mean, you have Prey and these other projects going out, but perhaps they just use that technology to make the files.
I hope tomorrow proves me wrong, even if the suggestion is a little far-fetched.

Now I know it would be stupid to get overly excited, but a lot of you seem to have forgotten what D3D was like or who 3DRealms are.
Duke was actually one of the most interactive games we've ever seen or played, even to the present day, there's pleanty of room for them to take that to another level with modern technology.
Also, TF2 proved that cartoonish graphics can translate to full 3d if done with enough skill.
And we aren't dealing with some modern day Uber slick half-games, half-marketing company here. We're dealing with an old-school, no holds barred, "you'll get it when it's done", legend. Don't expect 3D Realms to sacrifice any of the game's quality to political correctness. I'd fully expect strippers galore and mountains of gore.

I'm with you on this. 3d realms have always done some good games. Even Prey was a really good game. Quite fun and definitely an interesting game overall.
From the original DNF trailer, they have shown that the game will be fucking immersive and very interactive. Somehow I dont think that has changed. :) Best of luck with 3d Realms.
