Game is cool but I really missed a Soviet campaing as it left a sensation of lack of choice and too much americanism.
Is this game a RTT genre similar to the Sudden Strike series?
Not at all! Sudden Strike was horribly unplayable, in my opinion. Think of World in Conflict as an action-based RTT game with FPS elements in the sense of skill classes (armour, infantry, air, support), and up to 16 player games online with objective-based gameplay (as in Battlefield).
There's no base construction, units are ordered via airdrops using reinforcement points, which are capped but will trickle back as units are lost, which makes the game feel fast-paced just as in a teamplay FPS, with little consequence beyond time and opportunity in losing units.

Things are simple...
I've seen an ad, downloaded the demo, played it, loved it, bought the game, and became fond of it :)
Though it takes the same basic scenario as others RTS (i'm thinkin' about the serie Command and Conquer "Red alert" and "Red alert 2" ^^), this is really a wonderful game... The campaign is well done, and cinematics make you feel like it was some kind of war movie.
Last point, it requires a strong configuration (even with 2GHz and 2Go RAM, i must use "medium" graphics or the game eventually become laggy and can induce a reboot of the system ^^).
The last word... Artillery strikes are good but Tac. Nukes rocks :D

amazing game one of the best ive played.
This game is an awesome RTS, played the demo. Just bought the full version and loving it.
This game should be modded to be playable as a russian commander. Not only that what about european, middle eastern, asian, african, theatres of war. What about Cuba invading Florida, Mexico takes advantage and storms into the southern states.
