After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn.

Features:

  • Take control of your world by hacking mechanical devices, commandeering security turrets and crafting unique items critical to your very survival.
  • Upgrade your weapons with ionic gels, explosives and toxins to customize them to the enemy and environment.
  • Genetically modify your body through dozens of Plasmid Stations scattered throughout the city, empowering you with fantastic and often grotesque abilities.
  • Explore a living world powered by Ecological A.I., where the inhabitants have interesting and consequential relationships with one another that impact your gameplay experience.
  • Experience truly next generation graphics that vividly illustrate the forlorn art deco city, highlighted by the most detailed and realistic water effects ever developed in a video game.
  • Make meaningful choices and mature decisions, ultimately culminating in the grand question: do you exploit the innocent survivors of Rapture...or save them?

Great game.... I can run it with max settings on my E6750 8800GTX 2Gb ram and graphics are really impressive... the story is great and the gameplay is original, too bad the game is a little bit too easy. But still, one of the best games of the last 5 years: play it, or you'll miss something.

If you ask me the game gets a 6/10 from me. I really don't want to get into detail so I'll make it really quick.

Odd upgrades.
Thompson is near useless
Odd ammo types
Your guy foolishly just tries the first plasmid he sees. This is a bug that they didn't fix (Atlas was supposed to say to you to use it.)

They where originally but ever since they where payed to be xbox360/pc they decided not to. I am almost willing to bet its due to microsoft not wanting the pc ver to have any sort of edge over the xbox360 ver.
( This is why the editor pic is still in the folder, and various other things where left from before the major change in the way things where going to be. Hell they took out a lot of stuff and changed a lot more when that new contract with microsoft came around. Not to mention the staff change... *sighs* )

It's a nice game!, but what bugs me is
that the reincarnation chambers really ruin the experiance.
Feels more like a casual walk through the park, instead of a fight
for survival.

I ran this game on 640x480 with everything on high on my PC with a fairly consistent 15-40 fps. My PC is pretty out of date now too (AMD 3000+ 6600GT and 1 Gig of RAM) so I was pretty happy with how amazing it looked and played, even if I had to go well below the resolution I wanted.

The actual game was absolutely epic! This is the first game I've played that actually made me hesitate to kill someone trying to kill me because I felt sorry for them. Bioshock is amazing at playing with your emotions and creeping you out. Having said that, games almost never creep me out and never scare me except with the typical BOO-THERES-A-BAD-GUY-BEHIND-YOU type of scares.
