heh, have you played 1944? Not trying to imply that 1944 is better than anything you have played, but I think you should wait to see what we have developed before passing judgement on the game. Obviously it is catering to a specific niche market, and will not appeal to everyone, but with that said you should wait until you see 1944 before you pass judgement, and when you finally play it you will be in a better position to give an informed opinion.

sgt:sam who exactly are you? Seriously stop posting, you have no connection to the game so stop confusing the matter.

We are currently in talks about the engine, hopefully this will finally come to fruition within the next 2 weeks. One way or another it's a very powerful piece of tech, and everyone will be impressed with the end results we have been achieving.

Oh and for the record 1944 will have shader 2 support, so you are not being forced onto shader3 only.

There is also the ability to tailor the games textures and lods for best performance on your system. So this makes the entire game scaleable. So older machines will not die while playing the game, they just have to be realistic about what graphical features they can view.
