After an asteroid hits earth, the impacted island chain is sealed off by North Korea. The US responds by sending in a Delta Force team, aiming to discover the secrets locked inside. An alien force then appears from within the meteorite, forcing humans to ally against them.
Crysis is CryTek's follow up to their 2004 hit Far Cry, using a different story line, but crams in every new technology from Volumetric Clouds and Motion Blur to backlit leaves.
The game will be using the next-gen, breathtaking engine - CryEngine 2 - which will probably be the first one to support DirectX 10 and 4.0. Shader Model.

I wonder what will become of the Graphics market when we reach the Graphics Threshold? When basically, graphics cannot look any more real or they'd be Un-Real :P Which I believe is physically impossible...

graphics dont make up a game, you dont just want eye candy from a game, i mean what the point of a visually stunning and "correct" game if the physics are shit or something or bots are complete idiots. But yeah this could be a answer to everything.
I agree with everyone about the graphics being amazing. Hell I saw pictures of real life and in game comparisons and picked the wrong one as the real world picture. But do graphics really make a game next gen? When I first noticed the idea of "Next Gen gaming" I was thinking more of limitless gaming allowing the player to do as he or she pleases, not just increasing the minimum requirements to the point where updating your video card is an annual event when even then a week later your card is obsolete because it can't run a simple run and gun shooter. Now that I've seen what Next Gen graphics look, I'm still waiting for Next Gen gaming.
