Command & Conquer 2: Tiberian Sun is the sequel to Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn. Set in the early 21st century, Tiberian Sun once again pits the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) against the Brotherhood of Nod in a struggle for control of the planet. With an epic storyline that unfolds as play progresses, players learn the reasons behind the worldwide outbreak of Tiberium and what happened to the notorious Nod leader Kane, who was presumed dead at the end of the first Command & Conquer.

Tiberian Sun features an all new game engine and improved controls that will allow players to command their forces with even greater ease. Westwood's MegaVoxel Technology is used to create a more exciting and dangerous battlefield with dynamic 3D terrain, realistic physics and a fully reactive environment. Explosions leave craters. Lakes and rivers freeze. Ion storms cripple high tech weapons. Forest fires rage out of control, and winds carry poison gas clouds.

Multiple levels of warfare allow players to cripple opponents from afar or get up close and personal in an all-out ground war. GDI and Nod have distinct styles, units and abilities, providing unlimited tactical and strategic choices in the struggle for global domination.

@SplicerXP

That was exactly what I said....

Westwood Studios was founded in 1985 as Westwood Associates. In 1992 Westwood Associates was renamed to Westwood Studios and sold to Virgin Interactive. In 1998 Westwood was bought by Electronic Arts (EA), in 2003 (or something) WS became "defunct" and renamed to EALA. (Many former WS employees quit, some created Petroglyph games, and others did what they wanted to do after they quit working for EA.) blah blah blah.........etc. etc.

And for your information I was quoting another guy that said Westwood was a part of EA from the beginning.

Why can't we all stop this EA vs WS debate? It's stupid IMO. (EA isn't evil and WS was not a "victim".)

This game was the first "modern" C&C with good graphics and the classics enemies (Nod & GDI from the first C&C).

This is a evidence of the great work of Westwood Studios on Strategy Games

Well I wouldn't say that Generals sucks. It's a good game actually, but definetly not a Command & Conquer.

I really have to say that Westwood Ruled in making strategy games. I played all of them, started from Dune 2 on Amiga 500 :D, that was some nice computer :D. Then C&C and Red alert on PSX, and the rest of em on PC.

Westwood was the best, then the games with both logo of westwood and EA (Red alert 2 Yuris Revenge expansion and Renegade) wasn't so good, and the one's with only EA logo sucks (Generals). Tiberium Wars is a bit better but it dosn't have the feel and climate the older one's had.

I will never forget about Westwood and it will stay in my Hearth for EVER! I'm still playing TS, Red alert 2 and Red alert 1.

"or find the strategy aside from some micro economy management. Those blob thingies that moved around at random were really annoying."

What do you mean? :S

Little Note to most who said ea sucks...as much as i agree, they actually owned westwood from the beginning so westwood wasnt necessarily taken overthe section was just shutdown and moved to a new department.
