Indie Rumble Interview
Sep 23, 2008 Audio 0 commentsInterview for Indie Rumble featuring Monique, Vincent, and Eric from the Iron Grip: Warlord team.
In IRON GRIP: WARLORD, the first commercial game from Isotx, the player plays as an Atelian warrior from Warlord Sahrab's army. The nomadic state of Atelia is being invaded by the imperialistic Confederation and everything from their religion to their independence is being threatened. Due to its own internal weakness and fractured city-states, Atelia has struggled and largely failed to fight the movement. It is now up to you and a close-knit of rebels--either AI controlled or fellow players--to repel the invader and save Atelia.
As a Warlord, you must use all of your skill to defend the city against the Confederate attacks. In an innovative blend of RTS and FPS gameplay, you will employ urban guerrilla tactics to fight off the hordes of soldiers. You must protect your city at all costs, by building defense structures, setting traps, and taking the enemy on yourself.
Based on the Quake 3 engine, this project is the latest offering in the Iron Grip Universe. It is slated to come out in Q4 of 2008 for a small download fee, though some of the content will be free to access.

It's been a while coming, but the Iron Grip: Warlord team finally feels they have a product worth testing and we're turning to ModDB for help.
If you play games and you're willing to give constructive input into a game during the last phases of its development--well, let's just say that we want you! A penchant for the FPS and RTS genres is an added bonus, as well as the desire to blow things up and melt faces with extreme power, but they're not necessary.
Simply fill out our beta sign-up form and we will get back to you if we select you to participate.
If you are from ModDB, I highly suggest telling us that in the optional section. We will be giving some priority to ModDB users who have followed our updates for a while.
Please note that we do not have a Linux or Apple copy, so you will need to be using Windows to test for us. Sorry!
Pssst, you can sign-up for Isotx forums right here. It takes just a minute and we will not sell your information or do anything with it.
As for the turnaround to be accept, that is probably a week or two. Right now the first closed beta section that was within our company just ended and the second one's invites are about to be sent out for friends, family and influential forum users. The beta these sign-ups are for will be stage three, so it will be coming in early October most likely.
Again, the link to sign-up is right here. I look forward to reviewing your applications.

can someone tell me what an indie game is? because i have no idea
also are they free?
i b with Cece. great game. hurry up, urge to play RISING...
This game looks great, however a big upgrade to the lighting would do wonders. It looks too dark, I know its still early in development, but it would be a nice thing to see in the future release.
I love the concept art, i love the idea, i love this game. Very nice work, keep it up.
What happens to Iron Grip: The Oppression?
It's still in development. 1.5 is currently being worked on, but I don't have any info on how long.
That's nice, would've been such a waste if it would've been put aside for this. I don't mean warlords sounds like a bad idea, it's just that I know Isotx put alot of effort into IG: The Oppression and I'd hate to see that go to waste.
This mod was buggy and a bit boring and nobody played their hl2 mod version. How do they go this far to make it a commercial game? The graphics look awful too.
This isn't a mod.
It's still in developement, be patient. :)
