With the largest fanbase of any game ever released and well over 50 awards to it's name, Half-Life by Valve Software is undoubtably one of the greatest games ever. Half-Life's great assets though is it's modding potential and as shown by brilliant titles such as Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, there is no question as to why more mods exist for Half-Life than any other game. If you havn't given this game a whirl and one of it's many mods you are definitely missing out!

Advanced Mapping/Technical.
[page=Introduction]
This Day of Defeat mapping tutorial is presented in a video format and can be downloaded here. Though it is focused on building a map for the original DoD, the fundamentals and many of the points discussed can be applied to DoD: Source, HL and Counter-Strike.
Please note that I did not create this tutorial and nor do I know the editor other than the fact that he calls himself "RJ". This is a great tutorial which was long-ago lost so I have decided to resurrect it, hoping that it may help other people as much as it has helped me. I have included a few screenshots below for preview purposes.
Happy Mapping!

GoldSrc LIVES!
Yeah, it's a tutorial for the original DoD, but the concepts still apply for source mapping, and I have not been able to find any source mapping tutorials that are as helpfull as this one is.
Nice tutorial, thanks.
