With the largest fanbase of any game ever released and well over 50 awards to it's name, Half-Life by Valve Software is undoubtably one of the greatest games ever. Half-Life's great assets though is it's modding potential and as shown by brilliant titles such as Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, there is no question as to why more mods exist for Half-Life than any other game. If you havn't given this game a whirl and one of it's many mods you are definitely missing out!

In this tutorial, you will be taught how to make the blue areas on textures e.g. fences, air-ducts and so on, and so fourth, invisible.
[page=Selecting your Textures and making the Brushes]
Start by Browsing through your Texture list, and select a texture with a "{" Symbol in front of the name (Like I Said earlier on, Airducts, Fences, gates etc etc.
Double click the texture you like, and make your brushes like said in Vash' Tutorial. I made this:

[page=Making the Blue areas Invisible]
Now you move on to making the blue areas Transparent. Start by Selecting all the Four walls (If it's eg. an airduct vent, just click the texture with the { symbol.
Click the Texture application Tool,
, and click "Fit". This fit's your texture to it's whole area. To fix this, change it's X-Scale untill you are satisfied. Looks Booya, don't it ?
Now, move on to making the Blue areas Invisible. Select the Brush, and either Press CTRL+T or Right click it with the mouse (On the Wireframe Screens). Select these Options:

Dont touch the other options.

See? It's not that difficult. Mapping IS easy. You just gotta know how to do it.
I can show you some more tutorials later; but I gotta shut down the computer right now.
