With the largest fanbase of any game ever released and well over 50 awards to it's name, Half-Life by Valve Software is undoubtably one of the greatest games ever. Half-Life's great assets though is it's modding potential and as shown by brilliant titles such as Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Team Fortress Classic, there is no question as to why more mods exist for Half-Life than any other game. If you havn't given this game a whirl and one of it's many mods you are definitely missing out!

Hello to all those following our progress and apologies for our long silence concerning the project. It's still alive, but we had some problems getting what we truly wanted on the HL1 engine and we're now exploring the possibility of using the HL2 Source engine to provide us better enviroment with more complex maps and models.

I've uploaded an image from new WIP stormtrooper to show were still going on

Best Game of all time ! This one will never get old. I played it so many times I lost the count. In my opinion the guys and lads at Valve are not from this Planet. Their games are in some way blessed by some superior forces, and I hope it will stay that way ;)

I find that everyone that plays this game LOVES it (including me!). Not just the gameplay but the mods that there is for it. I find that hl2 mods usually make me bored after a while and I usually play hl1 mods 999999 times after I already beat them. HL2 has better everything but it I find that it is tooo hard to model and map for hl2. You guys might love hl2 and say hl1 sux but if you think that hl1 sux UR GOIN TO HELL!!! (It's true!) I found hl2 was too short and valvE took too much out of it when they released it. (that's what everyone says!) If you watched the movies and trailers before they released hl2 you probably said WOW!!! But when they released iteveryone said hey! that sux man....
I just love hl1 and when it's forgotten, I will never forget it, EVER!! (If it's forgotten...)
You know, hl2: episode 2 looks too hard so I'm not gonna stay in touch into the hl2 episodes any more. People also say that it sucks and it's just a waste of money. If you like it, Like IT but I sure dont like it. Just HL1 is the only one that I like.

I looovvee half-life. I agree with all the good comments and 100% too! I do like half-life 2 aswell but half-life 1 has more mods and therefore much more gameplay! I also like the set out of some places in Black Mesa. As it looks as though it could be a school in some cases!

I still play this more than HL2 because of all the fantastic mods made for it.

HL2 simply doesn't have as much and most of HL2's are multiplayer only, HL1 has that and then a whole truck of single player ones too.

HL1 still mesmerizes me after all of these years and playthroughts. So i can easily say that it's the best game there is. I think that its very rare for a game to feel so interactive even novadays, if you know what i mean. In the firstlevels you can "freely" tease professors and security personnel and theil say something funny to you, or over cook their meals in a micro. Somehow the athmosphere is great even in a game this old. Its legendary. I dont think this game will be forgotten. At least i wont forget it. And how great is the fact that this game has spawned the greatest online shooters too , u know the Counter-Strike.
