Zelda: Wind Waker Thread

I am really impressed by this new Zelda: WW. Although the new "cell shading" looks kind of weird/dumb/gay at first, it's actually pretty cool looking for the new "look" Link. Plus the controls and fun factor are really high up there for me. I also love the facial expressions he gets (I heard he has like over a +100 or whatnot).

Only other thing is the replay value and the plot it self, which I havn't played it far enough to see the full plot, but is cool so far.It also seem to be a sequel to Orcarina of Time more than that dumb Majorias Mask.

The over all would be a 9.8 (1 to 10) for me, but I still think Metroid Prime beats this....but I could be wrong. I'll just have to wait till I see the full potential of this game.

What would you guys give this game? (1 - 10)

Shigeru Miyamoto said that the reason they went for the cel-shaded look is because Link stays a little kid throughout the whole game in this one, and they wanted to be able to convey that feeling through everything. Cel-shading was the way to go. If you've ever played JetSetRadioFuture, then you know that cel-shading can look really badass when applied the right way. It's definitely an art form, and can't be used effectively in most games. I think it will be great, and I hope I get to play WW sometime.

I loved the old games, and I loved the systems they were on. I know peoples opinion is; its about the games. Well fudge that, no matter what, this game could be amazing, its on a lame system with no other games I want; hence I gets a one regardless.

Im disapointed @ Nintendo. Sega's vanished and all thats left is Sony really. Microsoft is in it for the long term but they're still newbies...We need Sega back

I'd give it a 7.4, actually. I don't give a damn about the cuteness, I like the raw bones.

Have anyone seen the review of Gargoyle's Quest I? He went overboard and gave it a perfect rating.. I actually think it's a bad game

azz0r, they're not really gone. They're just a 3rd party. But yeah, sega pwned.

Sega disappoints me, they always disappointed me. Sonic Adventure on DC was the only Sega franchise game that ever interested me. I was a Nintendo loyalist for years, up until they started turning the N64 into a wimpy kiddie console.

ive been only slightly interested in consoles... i mostly like playing rts style games and fps, and most of those never really came out very well for and consoles, like name one good rts on a console.
most of the fps's are rip offs of pc games, and do a horrible job of it too... i think the only good fps's ive ever played on a console would be golden eye and halo, no other ones really do the job very well

PF another really great console FPS is Metroid Prime.

Companies are ripping off Halo..

Planetside and Breed... hmmm....

\I hardly get console games, only PC. But Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros, Zelda, and Devil May Cry are the main games I got and kept (I tend to buy then sell my console games, these are the only ones I have kept).

As for Zelda...I mainly just love the fun facter of it. Plus there is tons of stuff to do in it, so its a real busy/long game. And those are always worth my money.

Halo really is just guns and vehicles and smart level design with lots of events etc...not hard to make a rip-off of it.

never actually seen a gaycube in real life, hence not playing metroid prime... i would guess that it would be a good game, because most of the metroid games seem to be well written

well if you've seen an xbox, just subtract 50lbs and shrink the box by like 5inchs on all sides and presto
