"Zandu Khar Source (Source in the title because that's the engine it'd be on, duh.): The Great War (Working Title)" Is a Half-Life 2 Mod idea I've had for quite a while, and it is suppost to be a 3rd-1st Person Shooter, with Action and Adventure/Platformer elements in it, and maybe some puzzles and fighter/hack and slash element, too... But would mostly be bent on it's Single Player mode for a great and long Storyline, but the Mod would be able to go online... But anyway, here's the Story idea: Characters: Xion Max Power: Age:Unknown Jon max Power: Age:18 at beggining. Jason Exno Bhivera: Age:25 at beginning Lucifer Cyberus Vortex (Over other names... Such as Project "Dark Thunder", and Jolt, even Shade.): Age:Unknown Robert "Rocket" Max Power: Age:Unknown That's all the Characters I'm listing, don't want them all to be copied by some random idea stealer, ... Weapons/Accessories: Nightmare Armor:A legendary Mutational Armor rumored to be created by GOOD. Magic Amplifying Neurological Access enabler(MANA.) Compact Arm Bracelet (CAB.): It enables Magic control for Genetic User controlled Alteration Recieving Device (GUARD.):A Device which uses a signal meant for recieving Genetic Data, and it can change the very Vehicles: Vortex:A Vehicle designed and created by the EVIL Corp, meant for all-area access because of it's shapeshifting powers. Shadowscaper:A modified Vortex without Shapeshifting powers, but is highly advanced from the original Vortex. And finally, the interesting stuff: Jumping, Flying, Transforming, Driving, Killing, Shooting, Destroying, and other cool stuff are ideas. What do you think? I might give a better description on the storyline, if anyone will help me carry on this idea into an actual Mod. Sorry about the Purple text, I just like Purple, ... Sorry, I really wanted to read your post, and the purple text killed my eyes so I changed it. I find it pretty interesting, although some of the names are a bit odd. Also, the MANA pun I found to be somewhat humourous. --

Only one person thinks this is a good idea? The complete story it's self took me about 10 years to make... Oh well, another idea down the drain, for now... Hahahha! I won't give up on this idea, ever... I am persistant beyond belief, anyone want the full story? I might post it sometimes, if it is requested. And thanks for the reply, frosty-theaussie, ^_^. lol, yeh Be prepared for criticism. Dont give up though. If you want to see this game to come to life you have to work for it. I'm not requesting help, I am only stating my idea so people would know of it. And I know to expect criticism... I will try hard to make this idea become a reality. If this were a request, it wouldn't be a post, it would be a help request... I am going to try and learn Modelling or Mapping, that'd be a start, but I'd most likely make a website based around this idea first, which I'm actually planning on doing soon or later, just in case if I were to submit this Mod if I ever became a Team Member for a Mod, or even a Team Leader if I tried hard enough, at least then I'd be able to se my great idea come into existence, until then... I'll just stick to learn, practice, and perfect until I'm able to help out Mods, I know not to expect the best work from myself right away either. Yeah, basically I'm only saying the idea, but you could help it become an actual Mod if you wanted to, although I'm not going to exactly ask for help until it's actually submitted as a Mod, which most likely might not be for a while, or not ever, depending if I change my mind and that stuff. I haven't read the post, just the title...why does almost every Half Life 2 mod have to have "Source" in the title? Does it somehow make the title cooler? |

Yeah, this idea has never been a Mod before, but I'll try to make it a Mod after/if I get the required skills to do so, and then I'd ask for a Team after submitting the Mod and (if) it gets approved, untill then... Want any more info? Just ask, I'll try to answer any and all questions about this idea. |

Slight bit of negativity, but what is original about this mod? Cliche's such as Xion don't make a good basis for a modification. |

Okay, did I ever say it was original? You try coming up with something "Original", you'll fail, because chances are, someone across the world had thought of it before you. Trust me, there's no such thing as an "Original" idea today, Halo? Alien stories and other sci-fi stuff bundled together. Stargate? Theory of high-speed travel through Worm-holes. Nothing is original, because Humans have had a long time to think about many subjects, so if an "Original" idea was found, I'd be suprised. And you do know mosty Mod's are not even original at all, as most are based of existing things, like Counter-Srike was based off Counter Terrorism and Terrorism. So please don't nag me about originality, Xion's the name of a Bloody Roar Character, I know this... But this Xion's not pronounced "Gee-on", it's pronounced "Ex-e-on", and I may not have spelled that pronounciation correctly, but my point is, for the amount of quantity of things this idea has, then it's a kind of original concept, but most likely something like it may has been done before... I based this storyline off of Religeon, if the name Lucifer didn't make it obvious. At least this isn't another Dragon Ball Z Mod idea. I'm not ranting, I'm stating the truth. A few more Characters I did not mention: "Father" Naitha Lawneck: Age:30-40 (Nobody knows really (They judge his age by his looks), but he's actually only 25.) Wow, Christian Demons, note that's pretty original, except it's most likely been done, but I wouldn't know. "Angel" Jeniphilia Magalt Age:Unknown. "Demon" Jayenbal Magalt Age:Unknown. "Ghost" Jacob Lithest (The original Ghost was Bob Max Power, but Jon Power changed Bob back to Human and gained Bob's "Nightmare" form.): Age:18 at beginning. "Phantom" Benard Lithest: Age:18 at Beginning "Hex" Juliet Syphiest (The Syphiest family is somehow related to the Lithest family, will not explain this relation yet.): Age:25 when she first shows up "Hack" Jackson Ballandyar: Age:25 when he first appears "Enigma" Gignah Vortex: Age:50 There's more Characters that were wrongly mutated for GOOD, or EVIL's own personal gain. More Weapons/accessories: Book of Christ:The holy Bible, the only weapon a Preist uses to fight with, except Father Naitha. Book of Laws:One thing Fatehr Naitha would not go anywhere without, this Book has every Law possible in it, and is a Judge's most powerful Weapon besides their Title as Judge. Bladed Pen:Used to carve Spells and Protection Barriers into ones Arm, not intended for killing purposes. Angel-AE:Experimental Mechanical Organic Suit of Armor(MOSA), mainly driven by Angel, a Biologically Engineered Angel. Demon-AE:See Angel-AE, only this MOSA is driven by Angel's Brother, Demon, a Biologically Engineered Demon. Symbol(s) of Khul:The Khul Bulk have a symbol, differently shaped and coloured dependant of Khul Bulk, on their Forehead or Hands, dependant of Rank and Title. These gems give the Khul Bulk their powers, and without them are almost alike Humans. The Legendary Armors (that I forgot to mention):The Dream Armor, the Demon Armor (Very different than the Demon-AE MOSA), the Angel Armor (Again, different than a MOSA.) and other Legendary Armors as the Hex Suit and the Hack suit, are all Legendary and powerfful Armors that are like the Nightmare Armor. Note:The names Demon and Angel are only Project Codenames given by GOOD, or EVIL. I know these names are not that original, infact Max Power is the least original thing to add to ones name, but I will keep thse names! I might add more storyline stuff, but those weapons, accessories, and Characters should do for now. Note:I began this storyline when I was only 5 years old, it took me until I was 7 to play a lot of games, and that's when somet things about the storyline began to tie in with other games, but I'm not directly copying anything, I'm only complimenting other stories by including similar content from them. And everyone knows Military Codenames are meant to be bad, .... There's a whole lot of sides to this story, and there is a lot more info I could say about it... I can see you've thought this through alot which is very impressive. However, I partly agree with the other guys because in some cases as you can see, it looks like you've tried a little too hard with the storyline. The cliche thing isn't too bad as long as its used correctly and not overdone, especially when trying to make it all tie in and make characters look cool. A good example of how well its done is the MGS games. One thing that made it so successful were the cool villains you fought, and some would have special powers and stuff. Luckily Hideo Kojima decided to tie it in with real things and the realism of it allowed the special bad guys too look more amazing than cheesy. I'm not saying tie it in with real things in life, but just tweak up you ideas a bit, especially, as u said, the max power thing, and the whole Good and Evil project names. Really looks like you took a lot of inspiration from Final Fantasy and a couple of other games, either way, a lot of good effort put into this. |
