Yet -Another- Writer For Hire *looking to build a portfolio* Thread

Though we seem to be in great abundance--from what I can see of the last few posts in this forum--I am yet another writer looking to build up a portfolio. I'm twenty-one years old and live in Ottawa, Ontario. I really don't have any real pieces of work yet for a portfolio, though I do have a short story and the first chapter of a novel I've been working on for a year and a bit up on wattpad (will provide link if requested). Most of my writing for the past few years has been either academic essays and research papers (I'm in year three of four of my degree doing a double major in English and Classical studies) or a bit of text-based roleplaying to stretch my creative muscles a little so they don't metaphorically atrophy. I have a few other little pieces, mostly random dialogue pieces written for my more creative classes as exercises but I'd be willing to show anyone who was interested in giving me some work to do. I'm planning on building my portfolio with just my own work but I thought it wouldn't hurt to potentially do some writing work for other people to build my portfolio as well.

So essentially I'm taking a shot in the dark and hoping someone will want to take a chance on me, even just a tiny chance, so that I can prove myself and build a portfolio. I'll take a small job, a big job, whatever you have in mind (actual story, dialogue, character write-ups, etc) I'm not looking to be paid or make royalties, I just really want the experience and new pieces to build a portfolio with.
