I am working on a weapon model using XSI modtool am having trouble welding 2 polymeshes together. I am working on the buttstock... I traced the outline with draw\curves and used rotoscope as a guide. Then I applied a polygon to the curve. Next I hit "symmetricize polygons it and bridged them together. Now I want to weld the bridged polygons (top\bottom of stock) to the original shape (sides)....but it won't let me. when I try to use the tweak tool and weld the points, I can't. I have tried freezing everything... I have looked around in the prefrences/settings but I still can't get it to work. Is there a setting or a tool somewhere that will let me connect the two polygons into one shape? This is my first serious attempt at a weapon model and I have hit a snag... I would really appreciate any advice you can give. |

well most times you wont be able to weld two verts together if there is faces within the area that the verts are connecting. For example you cannot weld verts unless there is no connected faces to the verts themselves (save 1 of corse). So once you are sure that there is no more extra faces within your model the verts then should weld no problems. |
