Well I don't know but can't you just send a cheque, or something like that?

its not the matter of paying for anything else right now, you have to enter a credit card number for microsoft to bill anything you purchase online, like i guess extra levels of games, etc. i guess. its also so they can bill you once your first year runs out without telling you anything. they dont even have the price for subscription set yet, and they expect people to just type in their little credit card number. it seems to have worked though, there are a lot of people on it. my mom has a check card, but i dopnt know if that would work for billing. there wouldnt be anything bought when you register, just when you buy the package, and when your first year subcription, which comes with the xbox live package, runs out. it all makes me pretty mad, since i dropped fifty bucks on the bastard. lol

Xbox Live is good until some extend....

The reason u need the cards is because u have 1 year FREE subscription to the Xbox Live account when u buy the package and then after that it is payed for like an internet serviceprovider..... which sucks like hell but hey, u can use your computer but the ping on Xbox live is not so near it anyways when u go with your comp the ping is so high and also the game goes choppy when u do something on the computer and Xbox live is good the ping is really low and u can download stuff for Unreal Championship and other games like Splinter Cell...
