why do people love WWII!? WHY??? mods like blitzkrieg for ra2 and generals, and dod for hl do so well, yet you can see the other end, scifi mods like ns and ar2 have such a small following. it seems people mostly like to try things they are familiar with, or are popular, and thus they want to be part of it whatever, move this to the rant forum, i dont care, but i just want to know, what is the attraction with WWII or other war games based on old wars |

um... one simple answer "People Like WWII games." how hard can it be ? i like both Sci-fi and WW mods/games -- Nothing. |

Its more of an accessability thing. Unless your scifi mod is based on starwars or startrek...you don't have a built-in fanbase already. Not only are the people unfamiliar with the gameplay, but of the sides, the history, etc. WW2 on the other hand has a very wide appeal, and there is an aura of romantisim with that war. To compensate for your lack of a built-in fanbase...you guys need to promote the mod heavily. AR2 is the best mod for ra2/yr...yet, you guys hardly did pr at all for it initially. Stuff like that takes a while to build up. btw, Godwin...I lost my old contact lists...so icq(46369595), aim(smurfbizkit) or msn(smurfbizkit@hotmail.com) me some time. |
