Like animals with weapons that they equip on themselves and fight other animals for food and territory. Not a furry but a real animal game. I was just wondering why there are no games like this out there. If there are let me know. Edited by: canis_lupus |

Well, that's the reason, what you want are the opposite of each other: you can't have "real animal game" & "weapons that they equip" because my cat doesn't equip squat. I'd imagine everyone would just want to be the strongest animal anyway & eat all the bunnies & what not. -- Go play some Quake 2: q2server.fuzzylogicinc.com |

There aren't any because the concept lacks the gameplay to justify it's own existence. |

Tokyo Jungle. You can even play as a dinosaur. |

Don't know if he's looking for a Pokémon game. As far as I get this game is about taming these animals to use them in fights against others. Hence Pokémon but without the kiddie factor. If I got the OP correctly he's talking about games where you actually are the animal not taming it but I could be wrong. |

I think one problem with animals games is that most people will find it difficult to identify with an animal. At least if it is intended to be some kind of realistic - emotions and speech is something that most people only understand on humans - not that this is right but sadly a fact. Anyway if heard of some game for wii where you can play as a snake and a spider and stuff - maybe you could have a look at the reviews to see what were the problems and good things on that game ... Only thing that i can remember from when i was a kid is that old Disney games like "The Lion King" - but even this has been adapted to humans to a decent degree... You could also try to read some books about storytelling and the hero's journey and try to adapt this to animals ... motivation is always the key to bind a player to the characters... |

Well, it isn't the focus of the game, but have you ever heard of "Mabinogi: Fantasy Life"? The game allows you to log in as one of your pets and play that way. However, there is a time limit on how long a pet can be summoned per real day. They did that because pets are extremely overpowered. :p I freely admit that I haven't looked into the matter before, but that game is the closest I know of to what you're asking about. At least as far as I understood your question anyway. |

I second Reqieumthefallen's suggestion, TOKYO JUNGLE is the closest you are going to get: You can take the form of over 70 different animals including a chick, Pomeranian (dog), lions etc.. |

This is a game I used to play back in the 90's |

Yeah, Tokyo Jungle is actually similar to what you're describing, albiet in a side-scrolly fighter kind of way. And honestly...ANIMORPHS! I would love a game where you got to collect morphs and change into that animal to fight baddies - it helps personalise it if the player gets to choose which animal they get to be. But I imagine it would require a tonne of research into different animals...plus knowledge of how to recreate them realistically...it's a lot of effort for an uncertain payback, I guess. |

Indiedb.com -Very good example of furred fury. Also right here on Indie DB I also agree with Creative storm its hard to identify with a animal especially with lack of speech and body language. |

The Endless Forest by Tale of Tales doesn't feature any combat. It's also, debatably, not a game at all. But, it does feature animals being animal-like and is online with other players. |

While looking for some great free games for my website I came across an interesting (FREE) game called Wolf Quest where the player's avatar is a wolf and has to do a variety of tasks like hunting, protecting his territory etc. It looks interesting but I haven't played it yet. Looks very interesting though. Edited by: TenaciousXL |

there is lif,it is a multiplayer game where you have to survive as rabbit, deer, fox, bear, wolf. you can transform into the animals by finding red poles with the animal's head on. the grapichs are good 3d. you have to watch out thought because other players like wolves foxes and bears survive by eating meat, meaning having to kill other players. And no download! im new so i cannot send link so just type in on google gamevial lif |
