Sorry for being an absolute total n00b but what is the difference between a GFX artist and a texture artist? |

a texture is applied to a 3d-model. GFX is though stuff like HUDs, game menu grafics and such things. mostly GFX artists do 2d-like graphic stuff whereas texture artists do 3d-like graphic stuff. this though can mangle if needed. EDIT: hail to the typo, baby! Edited by: Dragonlord |

Actually, a skinner textures models, and texture artist makes textures for maps... |

It's not such a noobie question as you'd think. As there are map textures, and model textures. Even though model textures are correctly called skins, they are essentially the same thing. -- ShadowLore profile: Moddb.com |

only that textures usually are easier to do as they tend to map flat surfaces. model skins though are usually rather cryptic if you look at the actual image as you need un-wrapping the model and trying to optimize the space in the skin to not waste too much of it. |
