I got familar with Photoshop and its interface in a matter of hours while Paintshop slowed me down and had me confused all the time since I was and still am so used to Photoshop. If I'd have started out wit Paintshop it would probably have gone the other way around, that said I think it's easier to stick with the program you started out with and hard to pick up another one but that would make you think it'd be hard to pick up new tools and programs designed for other purposes such as video editing software or perhaps HTML editors? -- BabuZaa |

Some programs share similar interfaces and then it's easy to use these programs, even if they're used for different purposes. So I like programs with simple interfaces.. Paint Shop Pro is just super fast for drawing and painting, as you can see the brush parameters all the time and when you want it smaller or bigger, or whatever change you want to do for it, it's fast! In Photoshop you have to click a lot to change those, which slows down the drawing and painting, but I guess Photoshop is not for drawing and painting as much as Paint Shop Pro. Maybe Photoshop is faster for doing something with photos? -- Quote:How about I give you the phonecall and you give me my finger! |

Yar, Photoshop wasn't really originally designed to do a lot of drawing, though overtime more people use it for that. Also, I agree with Babz's point, it's all about what you start with. I started with Photoshop and would consider myself quite knowledgable about the interface and function, and then one day I decided to start GIMP. While I basically know how to use everything with the GIMP, I still can't work as well with it as I do with Photoshop. --

Started working on a Stats System for NightFall (similar to Valves one for Ep1). Everything here is grabbed from an SQL database which is updated each time a client exits the game. Props to Sally for the design, albeit slightly modified by myself |
