Personally I think this could be a mod on a choice of free engines and the gameplay is so unique - imagine that with multiplayer. Perhaps something like that could even be created with Garry's Mod. How would a FPS version of Scribblenauts look like and play? Judge for yourself, I think it's probably the most anticipated game for the DS, this fall: |

I bought it because of the amazing word list, but that's about all that amazed me about it. The gameplay was pretty mediocre, and it's my least favourite DS game I own. Sure, you can give yourself just about anything you want, but it takes more than that to be fun. |

This, It would have been more fun in a garrys mod type setting with maybe some sort of mp. --

It's a lot of hype, and it's pretty disappointing. Edited by: leilei |

I think what would've been a more fun concept would be drawing what you want rather than typing it, it using some kind of fancy shape recognition, and then spawning it. The technology exists, I know that much, but whether it's feasible is an entirely different matter. Still looks quite cool though. -- ![]() |

Yeah, I realized that there is a lot of repitition involved from looking at the promo-vids alone (I don't own a DS). However it seems like an ingenious foundation to make mods from. So how could this concept be expanded to 3D and FP-View. To "draw something in the air" reminds a little of Black and White, which was also quite disappointing and repititive in spite of a great concept. --

it's good enough. i'd only be disappointed if i expected more than what i got, and what i expected was a puzzle game with lots of words and some limitations. only thing that hampers it for me is the silly stylus controls for Maxwell. makes it awkward, you try to click on an object, miss and maxwell runs off a cliff and into water with a shark --

Here is a tip for winning just about every puzzle, wings and rope. That is all. --

It's fun, if not for just playing with words. The actual gameplay is, as mentioned, quite repetitive and not that fun. Multiplayer if implemented right, would be freaking awesome. --

I've nuked a few times to get past some puzzles stylishly. And when I retried it in 'advanced' mode I just simply meteor'd (which was exactly like nuke, sans the 'weapons' penalty!) -- < insert subject games here >

FPS: How about a mod where you have to find syllables of words, or composite words or vowels (vowels for ammo), which spawn at random? You might be chased by a guy, who collected a machine-gun and your collecting a butt-rail-gun and shred him. It would be more like a racing game than a FPS, with the first in place collecting defensive power-up, while the chaser(s) are looking for offensive P.S.: I'd like to think a bit deeper into "offensive" words and "defensive" action, but right now I got to work. I'm sure there are some more ideas in this! Edited by: SinKing |
