In my previous thread I asked which engine would better benefit the kind of game I wanted to produce, I’m confronted with yet another problem. They’re just so many strong and reliable engines out there and I don't know which one to pick. After I posted the thread "Resident Evil Animation," I was given a link to a site that presented to me the exact program that Capcom used to produce the animations of Resident Evil REmake. What I want to know is what program or engine did Capcom use to make the geometry?

They typically make their own engines suited for their game. They don't hack up Source or such.
XSI is popular in Japanese game development so probably that or 3DSMax.

They used Softimage|3d for the geometry as well  :P
Capcom has always been a heavy user of Si3D and XSI. The engine itself would have been one they created.

Of course everything back then in that era of Resident Evil (save for the charactes) were pre-rendered. This means you would either build simple geometry and use a camera to project a matte painting on it, or put as much detail as you need into a scene (but only from the angles the player will see) and use something like Softimage's Rendermap to bake the detail into textures to apply to the simple geometry. Just about any 3d program will do of course
