I couldn't find one of these posts recently so I figured why not start a new one.

Just simply post the mod you are looking forward to the most. Rules are you cannot post your own mod or a mod that you are a member of, and the mod can be for any game.

Note: The mod must not be released and you must state what game it is for.

I personally am looking forward to Dystopia for Half-Life 2, I really like the theme and the mod is looking great so far. Plus most of the dev. team are aussies :D!

Now it is your turn..

That Valandil one looks pretty cool, pretty much any Fantasy RPGs, like San-J's Maerchen.

My mod for STALKER Shadow of chernobyl. "STALKER Theft Auto".

Otherwise, i'm not a real fan of the source engine, because it's limited to many things that deal with expanding enviorments and certian gameplay types.

Please don't pimp your own mod here :P, we do have a forum for that. Most mod developers are looking forward to their own mod, so perhaps you should talk about a mod outside your own that excites you!

Any mod that lacks a freaking zombie theme. There are fourty four zombie mods people for Half Life 2 ALONE, people.

But really? Sven Coop 2.

EDIT: And Dystopia. >.x. I totally forgot about that mod.

Sven Co-op 2, with good mapping support from the community it will be able to match anything.

Otherwise, Clash of the Ages, Insurgency, Resistance and Liberation, Valandil.

Any full conversion mod that comes out first for HL2 I will play, though.

I'm looking forward to DoD: Source. The first was a great game that I had a lot of fun with, and the Source engine can only make the experience better.

Another mod I can't wait for is 'Return to Mana'. That game looks great, both visually and conceptually. I can't wait to play it :D

Half looking forward to Valandil if merely for the fact that I tire of seeing fantasy games utilize factory made artistic driven armaments for much of their array, while it actually has numerous notable historically accurate versions of their weapons, even if they are as simple to find and require little knowledge, the fact is these are not the kind that lack solidity and balance, as many fantasy recreations could be easily broken, disarmed, or a hindrance.

No, it's just that Tarky specifically posted a rule that you couldn't post about your own mod as one that you're looking forward to. It has to be someone else's, so it can let people know about a mod that they might've not had any idea about before.

If he hadn't of included that rule, I'm sure most people here would've chosen their own mod as well.

But it's a fantasy world, and a lot of the time these weapons are endowed with magical extras or made out of materials that you might only find in a fantasy world. That's fantasy, the opposite of real.

I'm not opposing your preference to realistic games, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but your reasoning was somewhat off.

Back on topic -and all Source Mods I'm afraid- I'm looking forward to (not in any order):

Dystopia
Insurgency
Project: Hull Breach
Eternal Silence
Citizen 132
Fortress Forever
Valandil
Return to Mana
the Opera
Dulce et Decorum
Terminus Discord
...and Caliber.

For the guy who said he was looking forward to Fantasy RPGs, checkout:

- Return to Mana
- Terminus Discord (not actually an RPG, but fantasy nevertheless)
- Another, um, Fantasy RPG Mod in the works

Tarky, don't be surprised, there has always been a stream of material running through Half-Life, and most of those have transfered, or the community believes it is the best decision for everything and moves there, thus forcing many others to move if they wish any playability.

If you've noted the demise of many UT2004 modifications, Red Orchestra, Air Buccanears, Alien Swarm, this is due in large to the lack of a UT2k4 community outside of the modders themselves, which doesn't create a large area of play.
