HL engine because its obviously the modders choice. However UT was a pile off ass and a heavy engine in alot of respects. -- Why wont it save me? |

HL kicks major ass because of the community producing so many mods. I mean look at NS, they could box it and sell it for £40 and people would buy it! On the other hand Unreal is a nextgen engine with more gizmos. I reckon the ultimate one will be the fabled HL2 which will do everything... |

Something tells me Half-Life 2 won't be as much of a mod-happy game as before. I like id Software because one of their goals is to make moddable games. Their gameplay is always simple, no unnecessary frills that might clog stuff up a bit. Except maybe for Quake II a bit :/ But still, Quake1 remains the simplest game to mod. The Quake series community (except for the Q2 community) agree that Q2 sucked. It was a half-done game, IMO. I hate to say it but Half-Life is the game Quake 2 could have been, it's what a fully-done Q2 would've been like - Edited By SeienAbunae On Tue 15th, Apr 2003 @ 8:51:02pm --

Like the monsters, and the AI, and monsters. Stroggs suck. Fiends and shamblers rule! I remember the first time I fought a Shambler in Quake, it was in the E1M5 (gloom keep) map in the gold key room. I was all freaked out (probably 12 years old) and killed it with the perforator, than ran and told my brother about it! --

rofl!!! dont really remember the first time i played quake 1... the only gaming moment i remember was when i played the op force demo (first hl evah that i played) and one of those evil head crabs jumped at me... never really got scared by them again, but DAMN!! those lil buggers almost gave me a heart attack the first time... -- ___________________________

me first memory of HL was the uplink demo, turned the corner and a headcrab flew past. Same as psychofarmer, took it out with the crowbar but it damn well gave me a heart attack. |

There is plenty of good mods for UT. There's Infiltration, Apocalypse Weapons, Covert Forces, The Third Reich, Tactical Ops, Operation Na Pali, Strike Force. I could go on for ages. |
