Halo 3 itself is pretty fun from what I've played. I don't have the game, but I have played co-operative and MP (MP was great fun, co-operative was averagely fun) Unfortunately it suffers from rabid fanboys, as well as pretentious people who think they're totally cool and anti-mainstream by going on about how much the Halo series suck. Just one of those things really. =/ |

The flood didnt get involved until the 3rd book...Fall of reach(the first novel) Is when the covenant attacked the planet of reach killing most of the spartans and when master chief escaped on the pillar of autumn They were the covenant since the begining and the flood just infect all other races to kill them -- IM just so cool .... how can u resist my sexy body ha ha jk...but seriously |

The Covenant were not always the Covenant. It's a conglomerate union of various political groups within certain races; there are member of the same species who are not part of the Covenant, and each race was integrated in turn. Who do you think the Heretics were in Halo 2? A non-Covenant political group made up of some of the species present within the Covenant. |

It is the topic. You asked "Who could they fight if not the Covenant?". I answered. |

ok ....the halo story began close to some odd number of years around 10 years before the 1st game(been a while since i have read the first book and correct me if im wrong because i haven't read them all) and the convident was the attacking force...they had already formed...the flood didnt come in till the first game or 2ed book.... so stop that argueing....as for the game halo 3 yeah it was over hyped....they could have put so much more into the telling of the story and to be honest thats what i really liked about the game....the 1st one you didnt understand anything really but after that it was same old same old...thats why i read the books actually....i think they should have made the games in order from the story to make it easier to follow and always new....the multilayer is alright but gets redundant as well...especially with all the MLG pro wanna cocky folks and 8 years olds on their no point in playing for fun.... |

**i like the shift the key get it get it right** He argues for the sake of discussion. Circle jerks are boring. Don't laugh at something like that. And capital letters doesn't get people's attention, it gets their spite. Just so you know. And I so fucking want that mouse! |

i think there's plenty of scope to be covered in the halo universe. Sure it wont be the same as the Human vs covenant vs flood narrative of the trilogy but i think that's had its day. ******SPOILERS.. i guess******* There's still plenty of stuff regarding what went on before the first halo, and i personally would like to see a game which followed the Elites after they went their own way at the end of halo 3. I think a more stealth based third person action shooter would really suit their style of combat and that alone could open become its own IP. Then there's the forerunners, the evolution of the spartans, the origin of the hunters, the flood itself blah blah blah. Either way to say that Halo would not be Halo without the covenant is a bit daft, particularly given that the state of the Covenant by the end of Halo 3 has barely any resembalance to that we were introduced to in the third game. I'd prefer they invested time in coming up with new concepts then just sticking with what they already know is successful for the sake of it. -- Koroshiya Ichi |

lol - interesting topic! Sorry i haven't been able to pass on more comments but yeah my joke was a terrible and sad one really! Yeah i can believe people not liking Halo 3 - The multiplayer goes both ways depending on how skilled you are - like the one thing that really did me in was that map Isolation got on my wick every time - lol crap level!! - most levels in the multiplayer were a bit rubbish Overall though i think it was worth the wait really - get all the hype and playing it for the first time blah blah - well it does depend really. Well carry on! Later guys! Sorry for that fanboy indiscreation! lol |

Yep, after that they went downhill so fast i could hardly believe it. |

I was actually very disappointed with the MP when it launched. I felt the whole game was completely rushed during my firt time playing online. The playlist needed tweaking and yet they had the nerve of not putting in Team HC and Team Snipers. I am an avid Halo fan and it just disappointed the hell out of me. The melee's were ridiculous if anyone remembers? Also the MP maps weren't what we were use to, so it was a bit odd playing on the new maps. Now, I enjoy playing Halo 3 often. I've gotten use to the maps and I have gotten better as an over all player, knowing the ins and outs of every map and weapon spawns. Really, once you get use to the maps, it should go a whole lot easier on you to get a lot of kills. I guess over all, Halo 3 WAS over hyped but at the same time, it has its fun moments. It takes a bit of a learning curve to it though. It's all about patience. Edited by: wiredgear |

I finally got to spend some time with the Halo 3 singeplayer this weekend, and I have to say, it's easily one of the worst 'popular' games I've played in a long time. It's pretty dull, lacks any kind of direction, and consists so far of endless, mindless corridoor arenas that ever so rarely open up into wide open areas that stll behave like corridoors. It's like an arena deathmatch game, without the opponents and without decent level design. Quite frankly, I'd pin it as a complete waste of time. |

What's wrong with that? 300+ calories per bottle and loads of caffeine are a great way to get fueled for extensive hours of playing forge with freinds. its a mountain dew bottle... how would u feel seeing freeman on a snickers bar? I was being sarcastic in my previous post. They probably do it to make mass amounts of money off of fanboys. I don't think Halo is anything special. The vehicle combat is good, but other than that the game is your basic FPS. Edited by: uberjager |

Halo 3 wasn't really what any of us hoped for (correct me if I'm -- "Happiness is a big-@$$ gun and a lot of ammo." |
