Want to try Stalker for Call of Pripyat + the new mods, not sure where to start.. Thread

I've been faithfully following the mods to the previous Stalkers and they've all been phenomenal! I've recently began playing the Lost Alpha and it's pretty good. Looking through the website, I see a ton of mods that look awesome but I don't know where to begin! To make things simple, I want to try mods that work will with Call of Pripyat and will open up a whole new dimension to the game (missions, weapons, events, all that jazz) without crashing every 2 minutes. I'm fiending for some stalker, but there's so many mods to dig through! Pointers?
