You need the commercial game to build and test the project but otherwise there are no requirements that would bar you from checking it out. check out black box for stardrive 1. Need help with AI, code review, performance. Memory management. Other stuff. It's originally done in xna 3.1 and C#. It's a commercial game but, with the devs blessing, we have the source. As long as we don't do anything stupid there should be no issues. I basically taught myself c# on this but there is a lot to do and it takes me a long time to code. Indiedb.com We don't have assets though. To help you basically have to have the game. Although there are other ways to help. Code review would help. Tricks. Advice. Suggestions. All of that is welcome. Bitbucket.org One more thing... You don't have to know a lot about coding. C# isn't hard. I had to Google everything when I started. But I learned how to multi thread... Sort of, resources to help like .net perls and stack exchange, and a bunch of stuff. There are easy projects and advanced projects. Would like to port the whole thing to unity. Add multiplayer. Improve memory usage. Add more ui stuff. Test. |
