lol... Greetings everyone !

I'm Richard "DarkspARCS" Nelson... Lead Sound Engineer for several game mods and games under developement.

I'm the guy that puts the bang in your gun or bedazzles you with those envigorating soundtracks that play in the background while you get your assets blown away by the bang from the other guys bigger gun ... =)

I think that my client Puff Daddy said it best with his "Vote or Die" shirt design released last M.A.G.I.C. show held here in Las Vegas... lol. It's great to have ModDB create this vote for the people working hard on thier projects. Recognition is always a good thing when trying to break into the industry - whichever part of that industry it is that your goal is striving to take you towards.

Obviously, it's my goal to get into the entertainment industry as a creator of video game and movie soundtracks and special sound effects. The project I represent here on ModDB is known as M.T.S. - Mech Tactical Simulation, a total Battlefield 2 Conversion. I'm inviting all who have been following us as well as those that haven't to take the time to come on over and see what we got going. We got alot going actually lol... too much to say here, but I will say that today MTS released our first public soundtrack preview and as the one who creates them, I'll tell you I'm pretty pleased with my work. Why not go listen to it yourself and see why I'm so proud, and then go and rock the ModDB vote by casting your vote for us over at MTS.

As a note to the ModDB team, I did notice that a thread was deleted for someone making the comment about there not being a vote section for sound /soundtracks. I'm sure the Moderated action was called for with the deletion of that thread - however the title of the thread itself does have a very valid point, one that perhaps should be considered and worth updating the Voting system with.

Both games and movies - the very things that dominate today's entertainment industry - are comprised of 2 main parts that make them what they are... Graphics and Sound. If, therefore, sound is 50% of the total entertainment package, a vote option in the 'sounds' or 'soundtrack' catagory should be added, that's just simple logical deduction, isn't it. I've just posted before you the mathematical equasion bearing the sum of the industry. how can you get the solution sought for with industry excellence unless BOTH denominators are represented in the vote? I heartily would like to recommend your addition of a sounds or soundtrack catagory to your vote process... not just because I'm a sound engineer, but because it's also what makes the game =)

what would your game be like if you had a great looking gun that worked perfectly if you shot it in your game and heard no bang?... pretty boring huh?.. lol. What would your game be like if you and 5 of your team mates go rushing in on your enemy but when you get there you look around and discover you're the only one left and surrounded by the enemy because you didn't hear your team mates die trying? what if your enemy shot you but you didn't know it because there was no shot heard, damnage report alarm heard, or computer voice telling you 'hey, you just took damage'?...

frustrating huh?...

I think the point really has no arguement, it just needs to influence the change of the vote system by ModDB for the involvement of everyone that makes games and plays them. =)

don't forget, vote for MTS or you'll DIE !!.. I swear... you will... !!!

...honestly, I'm not joking!!...

..I watched it happen, it's really wierd.... The phenomina was even catalogued by the F.B.I. and is under investigation!! Ask Agent Moulder ! =)

*me keels over and dies

With only a week or so left until the voting's closed, I don't think it'll make a difference whether the Best Sound/Music is added or not. For now, just vote with what you have. Sorry if you don't get a special trophy for something you might've stolen :P (Seaking in a more general sense, not targeting you)
