Pinned. The first excellent game that comes to mind when I think of games that never got the attention that they deserved would have to be No One Lives Forever. A true masterpiece that suffered poor sales for reasons beyond me. --

The number 1 game that has never been noticed by anyone and is awsome: Secret Service. I haven't played the new one, but it's probably just as good as the first one. It's just like cs, only in some parts better. Remember to also post any upcoming games that you think other people don't know about |

domination isnt unheard of, its the sequel to the critically acclaimed Massive Assault, which was published by wargaming.net the reason "domination" might be unheard of, to you, is because they had to change names not too long ago after signing on with dreamcatcher interactive |

I suppose Wild 9 was a great game that not a lot of people played, as well as Shadow Hearts. That game was released in the shadow of FF10, so there was no real chance of it standing out from that game, seeing as how they're both RPGs. Some more games that come to mind: Sambe de Amigo (Dreamcast) And I can list a hell of a lot more, but I don't want to get too carried away Edited by: Karuto -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

Grim Fandango was for PC too. I've got an old PC Gamer Demo disc with it on there. It got lots of good reviews but never seem to really go anywhere. |

Tis the fate of a lot of really good games. I don't understand how a lot of people wouldn't buy Prince of Persia or Viewtiful Joe and sell out the stores -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

I think a big problem is that a lot of people are afraid to buy games that aren't hugemungous. They'd rather buy a game like HL2, that has a lot of publicity, and they're sure they will like, instead of a not so well known game. I also think a big problem is a lot of these games come out around the same time as a much more popular game, which really takes away from the publicity. |

Beyond Good & Evil sucked monkey balls it deserved to fail, it was like the shittiest platform game ever, i beta tested it. viewtiful joe failed because people arent used to that form of gaming. and No-One lives forevers failure is way over rated. |

No One Lives Forever was popular in here when it was released... i personally don't like it cause it gets stupid with ak47 sniping grunts with reflexes like q3a nightmare bots, no chances of surviving a firefight without a (even 5% or something like that) scratch. -- |

Psychonauts isn't even out yet. Sure, it may be an underdog, but let's play it before we consider whether it should've or shouldn't have been an underdog -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

The point of this thread was actually more to point out upcoming games that aren't receiving the attention they deserve, if you read the first post. The failure of NOLF can never be overrated. It was such a freaking good game. Sure, it got more publicity than most of the games mentioned in here, but it deserved as much attention as Half Life 2 got. It was one cliche-defying revolutionarily good FPS if there ever was one. Or perhaps I'm just obsessed.. Beyond Good & Evil wasn't all that bad Embers.. It wasn't like NOLF or anything, but I personally really enjoyed it. --

No, you're right, NOLF was bloody awesome. I got it for free with my video card, and I wasn't disappointed with it one bit. --

Strange enough, I had heard about it back in September, when that video was first posted. It was such a strange thing to watch Two great FPS games that people definitely need to check out: Cold Winter (Xbox, PS2) - Gamespot.com Coded Arms is definitely going to be one of the first PSP games I'm going to buy. -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

Yep, I too saw that when that video was released. I saw the name Peter Molyneux, and downloaded the trailer as fast as I could! Some names, like Lionhead Games, Blizzard, Valve, iD, and Monolith, hold a certain quality of respect, that'll make you deeply interested in anything bearing their name. --

I own Chaser. It's a pretty interesting game. My dad got it from his work place. You guys should check it out. It's kind of fun. -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |
