Hi guys, I'm sure you're all aware of the release of UDK; a set of tools allowing indie developers to harness the power of the Unreal 3 Engine, and use it to power their own commercial projects. You can take a good look at it here; I'm presently putting feelers out for interest in forming a development team with the aim of producing a game aimed at the commercial market; and likely aimed at being marketed primarily via digital distribution. The core aim of the project is to provide a singleplayer game experience with good length, and production techniques are aimed squarely at an asset and programming low approach, with a rapid development turn-around. All compensation will be royalty based. I'm presently interested in contact from programmers and 3d artists - unreal experience preferred, but not necessary. Interest in space combat and space opera, also optional. Information available on request, to those who may be interested. thanks! Edited by: ambershee |

I was wondering how long it would take for UDK thread to pop up lol. Well i currently model for UT40k, so have had tons of experience with the Unreal Engine. Now im planning on staying in UT40k, as its an awesome mod and i love it. Its just that sometimes when i await replies from the team leader(who only gets on once a day) on problems or questions i have i could be doing something better with my time; like say modeling for you guys. Now as you may know already im a 3d modeler, with not many reference pics. I have models, but just couldnt be bothered taking pics. You can check UT40k's forums for pics of a tank im currently working on, and ive done a few weapons. Now my main priority would of course be UT40k, but id have no trouble modeling for you guys aswell. I wouldnt be able to handle deadlines too well though. If you're interested chuck me a pm -- Looking for a mod team? You're in luck. Check out our mod page! |

Hi Zac, Nice to know you're interested, although I'm afraid I'd need a solid commitment to the project in order to ensure that development is able to procede on some sort of schedule. Thomas, I'm completely aware of the terms of the license. Edited by: ambershee |

ambershee is a professional UT user, "I'm an Unreal Technology Consultant" <- first line in his profile. It's about time I join a group that is actually going to be able to pull it off. But my spare time is currently a bit ... random? I'm totally committed to projects that interest me and where the leader knows what he's doing (which is obviously the case for you). I have no particular experience in the unreal engine, I just installed the UDK this morning and only played (a bit) with mapping in the ut editor for ut3. -- |

When and if you're looking for level-designers, would be nice if you give me a shout =] |

Hi Matias, Sigma, Because of wanting to retain a very strict and tight development schedule, for the time being I'm only interested in those few people who can make dedicated, regular contributions to the project. As I'm also offering a royalty based payment scheme, this doesn't fit in well with a scheme of contributors. Thaldarin, It's a statistical likelihood that I will never be looking for dedicated level designers; as this is a role better served by those already contributing to the team in another manner (i.e the programmers and the artists). |

How do you intend balancing the publishers share of royalties after your first $5000? |

I'm not paying for development time; I'm only offering a royalty based compensation. I will however personally be expending money for developer seats and marketing. It's the staff responsibility to manage their own software, however. |

Hi guys, Just to let you all know, I'm going to be closing for applications on the 14th, as I've already had a considerable number of responses - and I've of course got to pick through a considerable number of work samples as a result |

Hi Diviance, I'm afraid I'm not looking for a writer, but thanks for the interest. A quick and final bump - I've nearly assembled my core team, and am looking for a talented audio engineer to potentially fill in the final gap in our team. Thanks! |
