If this is not the most newbish serious question you have heard, then I most not have failed as hard as I thought. Ok here's my problem: I installed UDK on my computer, sat for an hour waiting for it to load, it did, and I had no idea what I was doing, so I closed it to look at a tutorial. My question is: How do I open it again? There's no desktop icon and the computer doesn't seem to think it exists. -- Current project: ??? |

Search in WIndows Explore for UDK or Unreal Ed. The executable can be found and then you can make yourself a shortcut, which you can stick wherever you want. |

Also, you may need to add an argument to the path. I found that my shortcut just took me to a menu where I could play the demo content that shipped with the UDK. This may have changed with recent builds (mine is from March). Just incase you experience the same thing, you simply add "editor" after the path. So, right-click shortcut > properties > target. The path will be something like "C:\UDK\UDK-2012-03\Binaries\Win32\UDK.exe editor" As you can see I just added a space and then wrote "editor". You may need to include the quotation marks around the word "editor" too - I can't remember. Lastly, you can open the editor from Unreal Frontend too. |
