The Only Thing You Feel Indiedb link: Indiedb.com I am working on a narrative exploration game called "The Only Thing You Feel." I've teamed up with a poet/writer who is writing the story. I don't want to reveal too much about the narrative other than that it is very surreal. In TOTYF, your character has been wandering a vast, icy winter forest since she died. The game is free-roam; you're able to explore the landscape at your leisure, and the entire forest is open from the beginning. The gameplay could be compared to Gone Home or Dear Esther. As a side-note, I have interactive snow working; your character leaves a trail through the snow and can dig through snowbanks and other areas. It's actually really cool but it's sort of hard to show in a screenshot or video. If anyone is interested, my website is www.theonlythingyoufeel.com and I've been posting screenshots and what not at Twitter.com . I may at some point attempt a kickstarter so as to purchase a full Unity license and to pay a voice actress. I would be very curious what people would want to see in a video if I were to attempt such a kickstarter. I'd also love all and any feedback about the project and the media I've released. Thanks in advance! Edited by: theonlythingyoufeel |

This looks very interesting! The visuals immediately caught my eye, the papery white on black, black trees. I wanna dig through snow. Gah, I wish it wasn't blistering hot here! When I watched the video, I was feeling immersed in the environment so when I saw the text floating in the sky it felt distracting/off. A voice actor(ess) would be worth it, imo. Also, I wish the movement speed was slower & weightier, with the camera closer to the ground. Or, instead of moving the camera, make the trees taller. I think that too feel like a wanderer in a vast forest, the view should be more restricted in parts, so that the player feels surrounded by thick dense trees. Just some thoughts. Hope developments going well! |
