It's a sad feeling when you spend time on blog posts instead of development and they only go out to the SlideDB feed where on average about 20 people will see it instead of 300+ on the IndieDB feed. :(

If your game targets pc and mobile (and is tagged as such) like mine, it seems like sometimes devlogs go out to the main IndieDB feed plus the SlideDB feed, but other times they only go out to the SlideDB feed?

Anyone else developing a cross platform game and noticing this? I understand why the sites are separated, but if 300+ people look at one of my blog posts when posted on IndieDB, that shows that there are people interested in mobile crossover games here no? So they don't have to get segregated to SlideDB only no? Especially since it will release PC/Mac/Linux also.

Hard to ask without sounding like a whiner, sorry. I'm sure there is a plan in place that I just don't understand. I'm curious about the inconsistency and if there's anything we need to do in our blogs to make sure they're considered for both feeds? It's a bit of a kick in the pants when it happens. Every eyeball counts. :)

Thanks again for the awesome site regardless. This place is awesome.

Well it would not be a problem if Slide DB was popular - but at the moment it is very hard to promote/bring traffic to Slide DB without any exquisite goodies like own Slide DB app (for both browsing and adding apps from your tablet/phone). Sorry about your latest article - it has been turned on on Indie DB by the way. There is really no way to solve the issue, no other way than to find some means to make Slide DB popular so the separation would become more justified.

Thanks!

I totally see where you're coming from though. It makes sense to help SlideDB get more of a draw with exclusive content.

hmm  It's a tough situation. No easy answer there.

As above, best to post up on indieDB too where you can get more traffic. Have you had a look at the guys from Indiegamenewz.tumblr.com, I've seen them post up a few articles about new mobile games from complete unknowns, and they seem to have a a little following there that's growing, maybe you could send that team an edited version that they can write an article about?

^^^ Thanks for the tip! :)

And feillyne, if you need to push blog posts from my mobile game to SlideDB only, I understand.
