Ive been wondering why no other development team has tries to make the vehicles in their FPSs handle similarly. Half Life 2 could really use it, but ive never seen anyone try to change the way the vehicles handle at all. If it is possible, what would need to be done and what keeps other mod teams from doing it? |

I bet it's the suspension, everyone knows the distinct feel of the warthog. The buggy in HL2 is pretty rigid, it doesn't have the "give" that the vehicles in halo have. |

The suspension is set to a 'looser' feel and the traction is set to less traction. I myself have never been overly thrilled to dive into vehicle programming to make it slide more. Whatever the reasons are for the feel, its all preference. For modders, --

I always felt vehicles in Halo were very, very floaty and lightweight (save perhaps the tanks?). I guess it does all come down to personal preference. |
