I am new to these forums. I've been asking around but got no response or they say they have the same problem so a forum post is my last attempt.

As you all know, SSH:WTF Beta 2 for half life crashes very often due to its ridiculousness. The mod is hilarious and fun to play and the only thing holding it back is the fact that its so buggy. This is due to both video related crashes from performance and sound related crashes from overloads of crazy sounds at once.

Now I've fixed the video related crashes by updating to the nvidia drivers that just came out today. Other alternatives are running in direct3d or turning vsync off. I also increased the edicts to prevent the overload of edicts. But the only thing i can't seem to fix is the sound issue. Setting the quality to low helps, but still doesn't get rid of issues related to sounds. I can't seem to find any console commands that would help either.

The reason why I am trying to do this is because I've seen youtube videos of it running flawlessly, all while being recorded which hurts your performance more usually. Even though i doubt it, anyone have any ideas on how to fix crashing due to the tons of sounds it plays? If not, does beta 1 perform any better and if so where can i find it?

[Edit]
I've been fooling around with sound commands like loadas8bit or _snd_mixahead. They do improve performance but they still crash. :/. I know a sound command would fix it, i'm just not sure what one(s). Would an s_buffersize change do anything?
