Team name:
Slayer Studios Game Development Team

Project name:
Dark Assassin

Brief description:
The current idea is to create it on PC. I am not currently going to give out much information about the game as I will save it for later once the game is far into development. The current plan is to make the game normally offline but add an online way to view your friends houses, add friends, a online store, and a area for players to create their own stores on the market. Once you buy this game it will be all free no yearly membership.

Target aim:
The current plan is to sell it within $20 to $50, which depends on the success rate of the project. We will also be making addons for the game to enhance gameplay for its players, which we will be selling. We also had a new idea to create modding and editing software to create mods for the game using c++, which we will also be selling.

Compensation:
We currently do not have much of a budget as a newly started game and web applications group. Members will be paid as the game makes money. For all you know this could make your living.

Technology:
Unity:
Most of the game is programmed with c# and javascript, as that is what the Unity engine uses.
Graphics:
Any graphics program will do as long as it can export to .obj
Textures:
We like the file formats .psd and .tga, which means we like adobe software. We also use a nice program called zbrush which brings out good results.

Other software just ask

Previous Work by Team:
We are currently sponsoring projects and working on a web browser game. We are also developing some web applications. This will be our first 3D game that is being created by Slayer Studios fully. We hope to include a different type of game play to it.

Description:
A First Person RPG in a Medieval-Fantasy setting. Currently in development by Slayer Studios. Development began in November of 2010 and has made significant progress, as shown by the screen shots and videos that are being continuously updated as our team makes progress. Story: Emperor Tyreth IV of Xandor sent an assassin to kill King Mortseth of the Hirathian Empire, an act which sparked a war between the two nations. After the assassination, the Elder Council chose Mortseth’s daughter, Morgania, to be the new absolute monarch of Hirathia. Queen Morgania knows the strength of Xandor is perhaps too great for Hirathia to overcome alone, so she desperately attempts to garner the aid of neighboring Myria and defeat the forces of the belligerent and malicious Tyreth and his ever-loyal commander, General Serris. Among the Elder Council, Elder Malendes leads a faction that wishes to give in to Tyreth’s demands, out of fear that Morgania lacks the political power to form alliances with Myria.

Are you going to be checking to make sure that the people you hire have the correct licences for their software?

Dec 10 2010 Anchor

No. We do not do license checks but if they do not it is not Slayer Studio's fault.

Thanks

Dont you think not ensuring that anyone you add to your team for this project has the correct licenses for the software they use is somewhat slacking on your responsibilities, especially since your planning on selling this to people.
To me it seems somewhat hypocritical to expect people to pay for software you make when the makers themselves may not have paid for the software they used to make it.
And i wouldn't bet on the 'studio' as a whole not being held responsible for any software licence breaches either.

It's not the responsibility of the company to ensure that it's freelancers are using legitimately owned software, that responsibility is down to the freelancer, and the freelancer will be solely held responsible.

It's only the responsibility of the company if they are hiring permanent staff and working on company owned hardware.

Yes, Once we start hiring we will be supplying software and checking for cracked versions.
