Shockwave 1.1 Screwing Up!!! Thread

I downloaded and installed the newest 1.1 version and have been playing it for weeks with no problems whatsoever but just now when i started it up it froze on the intro screen and i had to hold down my power button to shut my computer off completely. Nothing else worked. So i tried restarting the game again and this time it went to the loading screen where it changed my desktops resolution and that fucking spinning cursor just kept going and going. It doesn't progress past that point and when i go to control panel it says "not responding" so i click end task but to no avail. Nothing happens. I have uninstalled all programs completely, CCleaned all files etc and restarted and even took the power cable out and it still does the same damn thing!

This is my favorite computer game! Would appreciate some help.
