To truely understand the day that just ended you must first understand few things.

- I bought a PSP (Sony Playstation Portable) on Ebay, imported from Japan costing roughly £300 with everything I wanted for it.
- I have worked sunday mornings from 5:30 to 2:30 for over two years.
- I work at a Tesco Express as a till person and general skivvy.
- My printer is a a scanner and photocopier too, so it weights about the same as a monitor.

So yesterday the clocks went forward, mom helpfully put all my clocks forward but couldnt bring herself to mess with my super shiny bright electonic alarm clock - so she left my room telling me to sort it out before I went to bed.

Anywho I guess considering I work so early in the morning I should goto bed early, but you know what its like - 1;30 at the latest. With the new time change I figured Id do the right thing and go at 12;30. Two hours later in lying in bed thinking all sorts of random rubbish getting annoyed at myself.

3:30 rolls around and I drift off, only to find my alarm wakes up @ the new time of 4 (which is actually the old 3). Basically I managed to put my alarm clock forward two hours so I tricked myself into getting ready for work and only got an hour and a half sleep - fantastic.

I get up @ 5, make breakfastand fetch a cup of milk (because thats what cool people drink) and go on the pc to check my email. 5:20 - time to goto work. Reach behind the desk to turn the power off and then shocked my piece of desk holding my printer CRASHES down sending vibrations round the house and probably waking the local undead. My parents rush in and I shoo them away. On my way out it hits me that the PSP was on the desk - HOLY SH!T.

Anywho I have no time to check as Im late for work. 2:30 comes and goes and I go home having totally forgotten the PSP was on the table, mom had sorted the printer out off the table. I also remembered how the printer looked when I left, kinda perched up against the desk so the PSP was under it - lucky I though.

Being totally knackered at this point considering we were the only "supermarket" open in the whole city (thus being jam friggen packed) I decided to curl up in bed under the sheets to play a few games of Ridge Racer on my PSP. To my utter unfathomable horror - I turn it on and half the screen is cracked to shit (actually under the screen, so it was impossible to notice without a backlight).

As you can imagine Im utterly gutted and feel like my printer literally just destroyed one months hard earned wages.

Life sucks. Gods evil - I know working on easter sunday is wrong but sometimes you go too far god, give me a friggen break.

That is why I need to by that hard-metal case they sell... ASAP, I don't want mine getting crushed... Damn, is there any way the warrenty or something could fix that or...?

Yeah...that's why you always pay extra for the warranty. I'd take the extra 50 dollar investment so I don't have to shell out another 250 dollars for a new one.

Mar 29 2005 Anchor

So sorry, I wonder if theres a way to just replace the screen...

Mar 29 2005 Anchor

No warranties? That really blows ass dude. :P

Ive had to pay the original guy £130 for a replacement

Do you know the guy personally? Because I'd send him a pipebomb with nails in it along with the broken PSP.

Mar 29 2005 Anchor

Wasn't that guys fault that the PSP was broken it was just sheer misfortune. :P

Yeah...but I expect all handhelds to be nearly indestructable. My Game Boy withstood a few hammer whacks before it caved in. Also, the screen shouldn't have broken. The case and chips, but the screen is supposed to be sunken for a reason.

Well a printer did fall on it... :/ I wouldn't want a printer falling on me :(

I'd say it happend in transit, therefore the post office should pay, because the sender SHOULD have put inssurance on somthing that expensive.

Yeah, I saw this on Wuggawoo (the first time I ever visited that site, interestingly enough). What a bad state of events.

Hopefully you'll get things fixed around, but there should always be insurance that covers something as expensive as a PSP. :(

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, I have experienced no problems with my PSP, and that means no dark spots, no dead pixels, no defects, no read disk errors, no nothing. It's not like everyone is going through this problem. You can't attest a printer falling on top of a PSP a design issue in the PSP itself. :|

tbh anything internationally takes a long time, my example, also a shirt. A guy sent me a t-shirt i'd designed for his company from AMerica to Switzerland, we did it through nromal postal services seeing as fedex for one t-shrit is retarded. when did i get it? a month and a half later. its not just the uk postal service but anything thats long haul internationally. cuz it all goes by boat no?

Took me three weeks to get a book from Britain, and ForK, I think it was more like two and a half months. Remember we almost gave up hope?
