Retro Games Thread

Retro Games, hmm intresting enough, personally i love retro games (anyone with me?) and think that more should come out. But what do you guys think about retro games?

And if you do like retro games, what type/style/genre of retro game would you like to see more of

You could class a few games as being retro like Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. While they all look mighty modern, they mirror RoboTron, Metal Slug and Gloden Axe respectively.

you know, i seriously hate the term "retro" - don't even get me started on "oldschool"

just because a game is old doesnt make it 'retro', it makes it OLD. saying you like a 'retro' game is like saying you like it because it's old, and not fun.

so yes. i do like OLD games, lotta snes, atari, and nes carts, not so much mame

You're absolutely right, ImTheDarkcyde. I can't believe the amount of idiots that claim they're "knowledged in the history of games." It makes me laugh, really.

Anywho, up to this day I will tell you I miss my Atari. I may love to play these current and next generation consoles, but to be honest they just aren't as fun as Pong, Pacman or any classic.

One of my old favourites is Chuckie Egg....those damn chickens.

OMG! I know what you mean! I miss my Amiga so much. I had so many fun games on it (not that they can't be downloaded now anyways), but my dad sold it, or gave it to someone, or something. :<
