Looked at the page source for the Apollo18 advert. It looks like it's coming from GorillaNation.

Just out of curiousity -- is there always going to be a Toshiba ad for when I load videos? I'm serious when I say  I've seen the "put wifi in TVs" ad over 100 times in the past week, just because I might want to catch snigbits of videoes.

if they blocked ad providers how would they get ad revenue?

by tricking the ad people by using bots to click on their ads, thus fooling the ad people into think it will get them business.

We are going to be upgrading our video system which will stop this issue from occuring, but unfortunately that won't be happening for at least a couple of months - as we need to figure out how to loadbalance the bandwidth required to run it.

Durex Advert on the front page is taking up the entire screen. (actually seems to occur on every page that has the square version of it).

Indeed I'm getting a Durex add explode all over avout 70 percent of my screen, literally EVERY time I wish to view an image on a mod's page. If I scroll through 10 images, I see the add 10 times etc... VERY annoying.

From Bad Adverts on Moddb

Heres one, made it a pain in the arse to see the page, did not move my mouse anywhere near it. Not that i think that adverts should take up so much of the screenspace even when that happens

Here's one. The New Best Buy ad. There's an older guy sitting down with a screw driver, and I didn't even cross over the ad and it took over my entire screen. Happened the first time, the second time it took me to scroll over the ad to activate.

Are you talking about the one that's somehow above the site? I find that one highly annoying because when I mouse over moddb to my bookmarks bar, it pops back up again everytime. Talk about one of the least convenient places, for us at least.

Oct 29 2011, 3:16am Anchor

Yeah! The advertisement that hangs at the top of the page nowadays is so annoying that it actually has me not coming in to ModDB to check on my stuff as frequently as I used to, because it's a real pain and it makes my pages ugly and a lot harder to navigate. You can click "Close" on it, but it sure as hell doesn't go away, but still keeps popping up if you mistakenly move your mouse over it. I bloody hate it.

Haha yep, I get around it for now by bookmarking the forums now instead of the main page :P -_- and a slight way around it is to just let it be open, just scroll down below it. If it's already wide open it won't mess up anything mousing over back up.
