Ok, I have two simple requests: 1. Let people turn off smilies for a post. Simple -- “I hereby state my opinion that the notion of a [expletive deleted] is a basic superstition, that there is no evidence for the existence of any [expletive deleted].” |

Because they suck. : ) I like the text better, and sometimes you want to post something without them. -- “I hereby state my opinion that the notion of a [expletive deleted] is a basic superstition, that there is no evidence for the existence of any [expletive deleted].” |

There are other good reasons to remove smilies from a post, for example if you're trying to post some code etc. <<< (just an example, no need to be a smartass and tell me about the code tag!) More to the point, it would be good to disable mDBCode completely for a post, rather than just smilies... -- modDB▪GuyTypeThing |

Exactly. Like, click the ON link next to your post and it turns it off, as simple as that It sounds like a good enough idea -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

Smilies have made links break before on many forums, thats why you might want to turn them off... but if I am correct moddb's smilies are smart enough to prevent code breaking anyway because it makes sure the string isn't included ina word or something... -- I played a blank tape on full volume. Just as a note, I don't want to remove smilies, I just don't want them to be parsed as images... I like the text better Perhaps this should be a profile option instead? Cereal without milk? WTF? What else do you use? Water? Coke? -- “I hereby state my opinion that the notion of a [expletive deleted] is a basic superstition, that there is no evidence for the existence of any [expletive deleted].” |
