This topic is about reality tv shows. Why the hell is that processed garbage so popular? I includ cops in the reality tv show catagory. Is it just because people love to watch others suffer? I'm pretty sure devoce court is also reality tv,isn't a devorce supposed to be the low point in any ones life? And they air it on tv? Ohnestly, what is wrong with people, why is reality tv so popular? Your comments please. |

I hate reality TV. Its annoying, and they show it instead of The Simpsons. I don't have a clue why people like it either, its pretty sick to love watching people go about different things in their life and actually enjoy it. The worst part is, they are doing it more and more often as well. By far the worst reality TV show was Big Brother. -- 98% of the internet population has a Myspace. Most reality tv shows to me are (excuse my language) complete and utter perverse crap. However, there are some which I find acceptable, and actually enjoy on occasion. For example, some of the "tallent quests" like American/Australian/Whateverian Idol. Sure, most of the show is just the same stuff repeated over and over again, but if you just tune in for the singing episodes then they're actually pretty good in my opinion. Also, some of the competition shows like "the block" (which admittedly I've watched very little of, so probably aren't the best person to judge it at this stage) can be fun and relatively harmless next to all the Big Brothers, Survivors and Temptation Islands. -jEFF -- modDB▪GuyTypeThing |

All rality is crap. The network likes it because they bearly have to think opf anything, and spend 50$ and wham! Milions of dollers made because retards love those shows so much. It's an outrage! No creativity gos in to those shows. And people wonder why there hasn't bees another Simpsons, or Sienfeld(spelling)! It's because they can make just as much mony and spend less than half to make with these crappy reality tv shows! Enough is enough! I want qualaty progamming! |

Its all about fantasy; people can't (or are too afraid to try to) live out the things on some reality (and other) tv programs, but they still want to experience them. So, they watch them on TV. Its kind of ironic that most people who don't like shows like The Simpsons or Futurama think they're shallow meaningless entertainment, but haven't sat down and watched them. If they did, they'd find that they're probably actually the most meaningful fiction on tv - most if not all simpsons episodes have a moral (and heaps of little subtle eye-openers and such on issues being dealt with in that episode), and the same could be said in many cases about Futurama. Oh well, I suppose a commercial television station has to adjust its programming to suit the shallow low IQ society of today if it wants to stay in business. -jEFF -- modDB▪GuyTypeThing |
