i'm stuck in real dilemma whether to buy a ps3 or xbox 360. so plz help me
these are my requirements:
1.low cost
2.compatible with normal Tv
based on these two factors which one would be better

1.low cost

xbox360 :p

they both have support for normal tvs
there isnt a single game wich requires you to have a high def tv (dead rising comes awefully close tough)
but i know that the 360 comes with a has a xboxout to component/hd tv (single cable wich splits up in two)
dont know about the ps3 tough, since i dont own one :p

It's easy to change the hard drive (if you are not a modder this matters!), ...

xbox is easier tough :)

and installing another os on the ps3 isnt real supported :p its more of a hack xD

you should start by looking what games apeal more to you (currently released, second hand and upcomming)
if there is no real difference you should look at what you expect from the system:
like deathcaller said, ps3 is more of a media center then xbox (but i bought me console to play games one D: :p )

I think the PS3 has just about every popular game the 360 has excluding halo and a couple of others. If you want to play online I'm pretty sure the Playstation Network is free, where Xbox Live is something like $50 for a year. A year ago I would have recommended the 360 but it looks like PS3 is hitting its groove and the console itself feels a little more high-end

And don't forget the Blu-Ray player that accompanies the PS3 8)

to me thats the only thing the ps3 has over the xbox :/
if the ps3 was like the ps2 then i would be a ps3 owner by now
ps2 was just for gaming and dvd watching (altough i never did use that :p) and the ps3 tries to be a pc >.>
but thats just my opinion :) dont want to start a console war :D

try to make a list of what you expect of it all (including games(but please...not killzone 2 >.> :p)

According to Wikipedia, there were about 598 games released or in development for Xbox360 and 442 released/planned for PS3. I personally would choose Xbox, only due to popularity and price. As far as popularity goes, according to nexgenwars.com there are 28,085,938 Xboxes sold ATM of writing, and 21,384,323 PS3. And yeah, far more of my friends that own a console own X360 and I know only one who owns PS3. The only reason why I'd buy PS3 would be a BluRay drive, and the fact that it's more quiet. So here you have, now it's up to you.

they kinda solved that :p ok you need to install the games to the hd but still xD
now that i think of it, a downside to the ps3 is that some games have a REQUIRED install while the xbox allows you (makes the dvd spin only at the beginning for a couple of seconds and makes loading faster (not for halo tough :p))

I owned 3 Xbox 360s, all of which burned out or died. One of the xboxs literally exploded.
I finally bought a PS3, which I like very much.

If I was to complain about it though, I could give a few things that are the downside of the PS3.

(-) It seems no one online has mics.
(-) Not a huge game library.
And the pluses.
(+) No one online has mics
(+) Not a huge game library, leaving you to sweet, sweet Killzone 2.

As far as I understand Killzone 2 is a WW2 game in "another planet", good point on buying PS3 would be God of War 3 :).

I don't own either, but I would of bought a PS3 for the handful of games that aren't on other systems & BD playback. But as I got a BD player for $180 it's not worth it to me now. :/

However I'd lean towards a PS3. Most games on 360 are also for PC (at release or later). Not true with PS3 as much.

But I have my Wii & PC, I won't be buying another console for a while. :)

What's the point of knocking every post about the PS3 if you don't own one?

PS3, 'nuff said.

Sure 'tis expensive, but as some say "You get what you pay for.", now I am not sure about online play as I can not play online (DAMN YOU HUGHESNET!!!!), but I have loved the Sony consoles since I was very young (3rd console played = PS1, after the NES and Sega Genesis), then my Mom purchased a PS2 for me in '05 and I had fun with that, and now the PS3 is the best console EVER! It plays PS1 games, DVDs, Blu-Rays, CDs (Not computers games though), and some models (>.> @ Sony) can play PS2 games.

Now the 360 is like a toned down (Crapified) PC, if you like PC games but lack a good PC, want to play online against PC players, AND you want something cheaper than a PS3, get a good PC that will last a while, but if you want a less than best solution for those then go with the 360. I personally hate Xboxes, they look crappy (I must admit that the 360 does look (Somewhat) better than the original...), the controller feels crappy (Personal opinion), and of course there is the whole "Red Ring of Death" thing, so IMO avoid the 360, but if what you want to play is on the 360 (And not the PC, which is not often In my experience) or you lack $500 (The 360 is only a few hundred $$$ cheaper...) then go with the 360.

But in the end 'tis still personal opinion, and whatever you want is what you should get, but my suggestion is the PS3.

because i play enough on it?
friend of mine has it and every time i go to there we play on it
so yeah, i played enough to make the comparison
problem is just, sony wanted to cram to much stuff in the console
microsoft did to but to a lesser extend (i dont think anyone uses the picture browser or the web browser :/ ok maybe the picture browser >.>)

best solution is to try and play on both consoles tough

what i found is that Xbox 360s have a cooling problem, but with an intercooler will still run efficiently. My stepbrother's Xbox seems to be a little bit unstable and freezes up or shuts down every once a while if hes been playing for a long time, but with the intercooler he has on it, it seems to have eliminated that problem.

that are the old models :)
the new models dont have that problem anymore
mine never locked up or so and it has been one for 12+ hours at a time (dont worry, there where a couple of hours i wasnt there but forgot to shut it off :p) in a enclosed-ish space and i just could keep on playing :)
