The Dots project submited an update on the Disciples of the storm project which included brand new high res pictures of the latest unit to be finished in out game showing it from multiple angles Indiedb.com but then this morning I got alerted it got placed in archives.. We submitted another news update last week about ICE cannon that we had gotten done same number of pictures and basic write up and it got authed for the main page... I feel the update about the ice tower is worthy to be on the main page and was wrongly categorized to be sent to archive section.

News are authorized by moderators and need to meet certain quality criteria (sorry cant find a link to a guideline text or something like that). Due to the nature of this is also depends on the judgment and mood of the person in charge if something makes it to the front page. And the amount of news waiting to be authed can possibly be another reason why its archived.
Now, compared to the majority of other frontpage news, a post showing of a single model with only a bunch of bland render images and relatively little text isn't all that noteworthy.
tl;dr its usually just not enough for a frontpage entry and you got lucky last time

Nothing against your model though :)

Well DJ-Ready already covered most of the problems with your news article.

And yes, quality standards of Indie DB need to be upped so now it may prove to be much harder for developers to have their articles featured on the front page as more and more lower quality news will be archived from now on.

If you wish your article reviewed again (after you add renders of different models, own videos not let's play's, as well as more purely textual content etc), you need to PM me to have it unarchived, bumped and authorised.

To note, it is always best to make a blog post (not simply a changelog - like somebody else's let's play's, changelogs do not count towards frontpage spotlight either) not from 1 or 2 days of progress, but about the entire progress from the most recent weeks (everything you've done lately and more) in order to make the article long & rich enough for double-feature on both Mod DB and Indie DB or at least to make it good enough to be frontpaged on Indie DB.
